yes i do, but also wanted to give you some edits because i see there is a typo in that original post.

its I3c not ic3.
second, Diindolylmethane (DIM) is similar to i3c but Diindolylmethane (DIM) is the supplement you're gonna want to go with. use i3c if you absolutely cant find a Diindolylmethane (DIM) supplement.

you can get most of the items for the protocol from vitacost. its an online store, just google them.
its where i get all my stuff CRAZY CHEAP.

I just used Nioxin today and lost significantly more hair than I normally do... Has this happened to anyone else??
I've been using Nizoral for the past month and haven't seen much improvement. I'm really hoping Nioxin helps...

I've been using this shampoo for years now and didn't get hair loss until sometime after. It could be due to blood thinners from my bladder illness though. I have Interstitial Cystitis so I'm not sure... It certainly has not helped with hair loss though!

hey when i turned 18 i noticed my hair started falling out on my head and my eyebrows as well. i am now 20 and have for the past few months been on spironolactone, birth control and using rogaine (for men). i have also been using nizoral about every three days and taking biotin (its supposed to aid in hair regrowth). i have been noticing some improvement but i suspect it will take at least a year before i see real results. the only thing i can recommend is starting combination therapy (spironolactone+birth control+rogaine) as soon as possible if that is recommended by your doctor. All the best, I know how hard this can be and I really hope your hair regrows.

thank you so much for your reply, I thought nobody is using these forums anymore. I live in London, England. My doctors never mentioned all these things that you are taking. I am using Nizoral, and taking iron, and other vitamins that makes the hair stronger. But nothing from the doctor. I begged them to refer me to hospital, but they said that if i wanted an appointment quick i needed to go private, which was only for one consulation -£200. Should i ask my doctor for all the medicines that you mentioned?

I really feel so alone, because its just not my hair, its my eyebrows/lashes etc. i am so miserable. I am seriously thinking to go back home -east europe, maybe I can do something about it there.

I wasn't actually diagnosed with PCOS until I saw an endocrinologist- which I recommend you see. My family doctor always brushed away my concerns of hair growth in weird places and missed periods. It wasn't until one day she was sick and her son, a recent grad from med school, filled in for her that he said I have to see a endocrinologist. He did bloodwork and said that my testosterone was high and that was whatis causing my hair loss, missed periods, etc.

Basically what causes hair loss is a high number of androgens (testosterone) and they attack the hair follicle causing your hair to fall out. Spironolactone (the med I'm on) is an androgen blocker. The birth control also helps keeps the testosterone low so than this lessens the chance that androgens will attack your hair follicles.

Whether or not these will work for you depend on what you bloodwork shows in terms of your testosterone levels.

Out of all my PCOS symptoms I have to say that having hair loss is the worse. I am 20 and I look at all my friends and can't help but feel bad that this is happening. I used to have really thick hair and nice eyebrows and I hope I can get at least some of it back. If you have anymore questions let me know =)

Thank you again, I do have the same symptoms as you, but my periods are actually always on time. It is so difficult to see anyone here in London. I wish it was easy to get hold of an Endocrinologist. I need a miracle!!!!

What other advice did you get, please tell me as much as you can about your experience, I wish i could buy the medicines that you are taking on the counter.

I wash my hair everyday. Can I use these shampoos everyday or how often should I use it. I have very thin hair and I need to put it in a clip to hide it.

As I mentioned before I noticed hair loss when I was 18 but what I did not say was that was the most stressful time of my life thus far. I started university and hated my program. I had weird class times and would snack a lot leading to me gaining a lot of weight. The weight gain caused my PCOS symptoms to go crazy which in turned caused me a lot of stress. I switched my program and my stress levels went down.

Fast foward to Sept 2008 and once again I was dealing with stress at school. This is when I noticed I lost a lot of hair once again only this time it was enough to see my scalp. This in turn made me even more stressed because instead of doing homework I would look up hair treatments and obsess over my lost hair. I ended up doing badly on my first assignments and that is when my stress increased.

In a weird twist of fate in November 2008 my school faculty went on strike and I haven't been in school since. I've started eating more healthy because I have a lot of time, and I lost some weight. Also being at home I am relaxed and I've noticed some hair coming back.

Point of story is maybe you are stressed, no doubt the thought of losing hair is causing stress, and if you can try and cope with it maybe it will get better.

other things i use:

1. I use Nizoral Shampoo (2%) about every three days and let it soak for about 10 minutes before I rinse. I bought this at a local drugstore. I live in Canada and am not sure if it is available over the counter in the UK.

2. I am taking Biotin supplement. It is supposed to increase hair and nail growth. I bought mines from a nutrition store.

3. I am also taking cod liver oil supplement. According to my mom its good for regrowing hair. I bought this at a drug store.

4. A multivitamin

Also if you can't get to a doctor to get medication, you should give spearmint tea a try. Studies have shown that drinking 1 cup twice daily (made by soaking leaves for 5-10min) can help reduce androgens.

I am going to buy the nizarol TONIGHT!

I think I have seborrheic dermatitis pretty bad and super duper oily hair yet I never put it together that it could be related to my hair loss.
I am also going to start on Rogaine for women int eh next couple of months.

I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

I have always had thin hair but inth e last oh year to 2 years its began to thin out more all over.
Really has gotten worse in the last few months.
I hope to at least prevent any more hairloss.

Good luck to you all!
