I was wondering if anyone is from the Ohio area or if anyone knows of any kind of insurance that I could look into that can be ordered if I cant get any from my work. I just started a new job and I have to wait around 5 or 6 months before I can get it I need it now because I havnt had af for over 6+ months and im worried to death. It's been around 2 years since I last saw a doc. If anyone could give me links or and ideas that I can check into please do! Thanks so much and take care <3

I'm not from Ohio but do you have Planned Parenthoods or anything of the equivalent there? If so its not that expensive and I am sure they could prescribe you something to bring on AF.
If you do have a planned parenthood, they definitely don't care whether you have kids or not. I have been there many times back before I didn't have any insurance. If you go and they aren't "specialized" enough to treat you, they can help you and tell you where to go. And if you haven't had AF in 6 months, MOST if not all dr's would put you on BCP's first anyways to try to regulate things, and that is EXACTLY what planned parenthood does. If you don't have planned parenthood, look in your phonebook for free clinics. I've never heard of places like that wanting you to have kids first... the whole point of them is to help plan families or plan not to have them. Wishing you luck!

I understand why you'd be nervous about BCP's. They can actually mess stuff up even worse. I don't see why PP wouldn't be able to prescribe you met or provera, but they would have to do blood tests first. I would do some calling around first before you make an appointment that way you can see what they can do for you before you pay them! Not having insurance is so hard! I didn't have it for almost 5 years before I got with my hubby!

thanks again! I think I will call around and find things out. Maybe tomarrow actually. I would definatly rather provera and or met. I think I would just feel better mentally if i could get a vagianl ultra sound to make sure everything is atleast still ok and some meds for af. Im wishing it was tomarrow lol. Thanks and Take care <3

I'm from the Cinti area. Have you looked into Cobra? I don't know how much it costs and what you have to do to qualify, but I've known people who have had it because they were either out of work and had no insurance or they started a new job and the benefits haven't kicked in yet. Anthem may also have an option for you to buy a short term policy. Good luck!

I am not sure what kind of clinics they have there. We had a lapse of a couple of weeks in insurance about 2 years back, and my girls got sick right before Christmas. I called around until I found an urgent care kind of place that would see one of them for $50. He gave me an antibiotic rx for both. His normal price was only $75 (they gave me a break because it was right before Christmas). Since you know you need provera or met or both...I would do that. And with the $4 rxs at places like Walmart and Kroger (not sure if you have a Kroger there) your meds may not be that expensive.
