Default No cycle for over 3 months and can't take meds...any tips?

Hi All -

I am not able to take any medications right now - after dealing with hormone reltated chronic hives for over 2 years. I am going through a really tough patch right now - no period for over 3 months, hair is falling out like crazy, all the PMS symptoms daily...I just feel pretty terrible.

I am trying really hard (although I could definitely try harder) to work on my weight and exercise. Is there anything else that any of you have done to naturally induce your period?

Thanks for any help.

If you don't have a cycle soon you should really see your gyno and get an endometrial biopsy. Not bleeding for more than three months is edging towards the danger zone and can be an indication of some more serious issues including cancer. None of my docs told me that not bleeding for months or bleeding excessively for months was dangerous and I ended up with endometrial cancer. So please see your doc soon!

Hi, I often went 3-4 months without periods as well and the ONLY thing that allowed me to start having a cycle (and a regular, recurring one at that!) was Vitex (Chasteberry).

Of course, it's not for everyone, and sometimes it takes months of persistent use to work but in my case it was an absolute miracle herb. It works for me within weeks and I have yet to noticed any adverse side effects. It was also incredible at alleviating the crazy cramps and PMS that I would sometimes get.

Hope that Helps!

I've gone as many as 12 mos without inducing a period with meds - and right now I'm at 6 mos without inducing. I've heard Chaste Berry is a good thing. I'm actually toying with the idea of natural progesterone cream and/or parsley tea. All this because Metfomin and Acupuncture and Herbs aren't bringing on AF... I NEED to work on the weightloss but I'm sooooooo tired all the time (only from Metformin I think), and am busy working on christmas gifts early, so I'm just trying to get back to time for yoga and eliptical.
