I feel your pain. When I went in to have a dating ultrasound (never got AF after DD was born in '07) the tech told me the pg might not be viable. At that time I had no dates to give her and all she saw was a gestational sac and yolk sac. I was FREAKING OUT because of it. To boot I don't get beta levels!!

I went back two weeks later and there was a baby with a heartbeat. Turns out I was just really early (5 weeks) and the baby was SO TINY it couldn't be seen. Still, the u/s tech could have explained what she meant ("I don't see a baby yet so I can't say this is a viable pregnancy") rather than leaving me hanging.

Good luck and keep us updated!

I think techs and doctors need sensitivity training. When I had one of my miscarriages, I actually had a nurse say, " well it isn't like it was a real pregnancy."

When I went in for my first u/s with this pregnancy, I was supposed to be just about 8w based on LMP. When I went in, all they saw was a sac with a dot that they made out to be the baby. I was measuring 5w5d. They said either I was earlier than thought, or the baby had stopped growing. I went back in 3 wks and there was my baby, measuring exactly 8w3d, with a perfect heartbeat. LMP measures gestational age, NOT fetal age. There IS a difference. They add two weeks to your pregnancy for no apparent reason, because the baby has NOT even been conceived yet. So there's still hope. GL hope this helped.

I am so sorry for your loss. (((HUGS)))
I know your heart must be broken, and you need some time to grieve. It is ok to cry, and just pour your heart out. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your DH.

Most likely your PG stopped because the progesterone dropped too low.
When you are ready to try again, and get your next BFP, make sure they test your progesterone a few times to make sure it stays above 15. When the progesterone drops below 8 or 9, it's not high enough to sustain the PG, and the PG will stop.

I wonder why they waited so long to draw a beta and p4?

I lost a PG a few years ago, probably because my p4 dropped to low, but my next 2 PGs, I insisted they test my progesterone, and both times it started to drop about 7 weeks, one had dropped to 13 before we caught it, the other to 10.6, and we were able to save both PGs by taking progesterone as soon as we discovered that it was dropping.
