Question No IR, will met be helpful?

Hi!
There is no surprise why I am here!! I am filled with questions, questions which have contrasting answers , i dont know what to believe.

My fasting Insulin-Glucose ratio turned out to the very healthy (so says my doc) but I still crave for carbs! I tried low-carbing adn it was very helpful. I lost 6 lbs in a week! but then my doc said i did not need to....so well......i stopped!

I have recently read that met could be helpful even without IR...does anyone have an experience with that?

Currently I am on provera to start my periods and am looking forward to starting Clomid! (I am scared!)

I am really looking forward to reading some encouraging personal experiences!

Thanx!

Try looking under the FAQ in the Metformin Forum there are other links that you may find helpful.

Definetly check out the FAQ thread. I posted some great articles there on non-ir women and met, and the new studies are showing good results with women whose symptoms are independant of insulin (mine were always borderline). Things like androgens/ testosterone or irregular or absent periods are the most common red flads for met therapy, and often show great success.

Hope it helps.
