 No more Met for me!
Well, I had a feeling that Met ER was not working for me. I've been on Met or Gluc for 2 1/2 years and recently felt like I was going backward instead of forward. So, after a horrible u/s in which the number of cysts had doubled, my dr ordered bloodwork, and guess what, everything else had at least doubled as well.
Pre-Met my lh to fsh ratio was 1.43 to 1, now it is 3.55 to 1.
My total testosterone went from 27 to 58 and my free testosterone from 3.6 to 12.5! I am totally bummed about it.
Anyway, I've been switched to Actos for the time being (was on Rezulin in '98 and had great results), and will be seeing the dr again May 21st to go over how I'm doing on Actos & to possibly schedule my ovarian drilling.
So, if you feel that Met is not working or things are not improving like they should be, then see your dr. You might be like me, and things have gotten worse instead of better. Like my dr said, Met is not the miracle fix for all pcos patients. Some do better with other treatment approaches.
