Oh my dear Jen!!! That is just horrible! Why are they talking of suspending Guatemalan adoptions? Does it say for how long? Will you still be able to visit him?
I am so sorry! I know this may be of no comfort for you, but there are also many families in adoption limbo for China right now due to SARS. Many have received referrals but can't travel yet. Are you involved in any sort of support group for adoptions? We have a lot offered to us through our group & it really helps to talk to people in the same boat.
This is just heartbreaking. I'm so sorry this is happening. Please keep us posted.

Jen-duck, I have been following this closely as I have a good friend also stuck in limbo with the current situation. I was under the impression that those with referrals will still be able to proceed under the old rules, is that not true now?

Yes, they're very supportive and answer usually the same day.
The info about the possible of suspension is on the state website-
for Guate. When did you say that Laura said they're were only going to slowed? before yesterday?
any post march 5th referrals (those starting the process) may be suspened- no new referrals (this is all what I read from the site- so I could be wrong- but my heart is still braking- we're suppose to visit Joel in what 10 days.) so any new referrals will require the new rules (psych evals, etc...) whatever NEW thing they can come up with- there was this rumor that they haven't released any cases from PGN that were after march 5th- just those that were in the process before the 5th-
NOW CAN WE ALL GUESS- when JOEL ARMANDO WENT !!!
GUESS- THE NEXT WORKING DAY!!!!!!!!!!
I AM PRAYING- as well as all family and friends- that the suspension isn't going to happen and Joel can be home in August/September/October or even November.

his abandonment decree is obtained.
and asked if they needed anything else to find out where he's at.
