Unhappy No o in sight.

I have been on Met slowly working my way up to 1500 for about 5 weeks. I'm on cd 35 and have not o'd yet. I'm starting to get a little freaked out. Before the Met my cyles were 30 - 40 days. Even if I O tomorrow I'm looking at a 50 day cycle. This is making ttcing even harder. I have had some cm but my temps never get over 98.0. I tried using o detectors but I never get a positive.

My dr wanted to put me on Clomid (she says I'm not IR) but I insisted on the Met. I just don't know how long I can handle this cycle with no end in sight. I know 5 weeks isn't giving it very long but I'm getting really depressed. At least before I was o'ing. This is just making it so hard to ttc.

Sorry to vent. feeling down today.

I remember that discouragement well...my first year on met I had 63 day cycles a few times, and it's frustrating. But as you alluded to, 5 weeks isn't enough time for most ladies hormones to start regulating. Your body is working hard to get testosterone, insulin, androgen and anything else (FSH/LH) that may be out of whack regulated. Give your body at least 3 months of "grace" time. Get your 3 month labs back, see how your hormones are shaping up, and try to be patient with the meds in helping your body.

I know it's hard, but try to think long term. This drug is so helpful for IR and non-IR women's hormones, and you want to be as healthy as you can be when you get pregnant.

Hang in there, hon.

Default There's hope

I was on Met for six months until I o'd for the first time, and my cycles are still fairly long (last one was 41 days, 10 days longer than usual). But I don't care, b/c now I know my body is working, thanks to Met. Give it more time.

It cleared my brain fog, brought back af, helped me lose weight, made me o' again, and helped me get pregnant. My first Metformin miracle is now 3 years old, my second (surprise one) arrived December11!
