I remember that discouragement well...my first year on met I had 63 day cycles a few times, and it's frustrating. But as you alluded to, 5 weeks isn't enough time for most ladies hormones to start regulating. Your body is working hard to get testosterone, insulin, androgen and anything else (FSH/LH) that may be out of whack regulated. Give your body at least 3 months of "grace" time. Get your 3 month labs back, see how your hormones are shaping up, and try to be patient with the meds in helping your body.
I know it's hard, but try to think long term. This drug is so helpful for IR and non-IR women's hormones, and you want to be as healthy as you can be when you get pregnant.
Hang in there, hon.
