Question No one told me

about these awful cramps!!! Good god all mighty save me. They are something fierce lol. I knew they were going to come but by golly are they intense! Hope this is the one and only D&C I ever have to do. So for anyone else who has had one.... when do the cramps slow down? They gave me some methergine to contract the uterus for a while since the bleeding was quite bad as they tell me. Anyone have any advice at all???

I know how you feel! I felt like I was going to die and lived off of percocet for a week and laid with the heating pad a lot! They didn't tell me how much the cramps were going to hurt OR how much I would still bleed after the D&C. Overall, I was miserable for about a week.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this.

I opted to not have a D&C (was given meds to contract the uterus & THANKFULLY they worked) & the cramps weren't as bad as what I've heard a D&C can be. They still hurt but weren't actually bend-over-in-pain bad.

Was a D&C the only way you could go? I know sometimes it's the only option but if God forbid you ever need another, try your best to get an alternative (freak out & refuse if you have too, I did)

I knew I'd caught a glimpse of heaven's love
As he thanked me and ran out
I knew that God had sent that little boy
To remind me just what Christmas is all about.

My body was just not doing it on it's own. I wish it would have though. I got an awful infection after my D&C and ended up in the hospital for 3 days. I'm emotionally and physically drained!!
