Default no period on pill

I was just wondering if anyone out there has experienced no periods on the pill. I stopped taking Mircette due to my periods stopping now my periods are becoming lighter on Yasmin.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

yes, i have had this same problem. i would have the 'withdrawal bleeding' from the pill maybe once every 3 months even though i took my pill religiously. my doctor didn't seem to think it was a problem and thought i might have been due to me being on a lower dose estrogen pill, however she did schedule an ultrasound for me to check and see if there was lining building up in my uterus. i have been off bc for 6 months now and unfortunately have begun to skip periods again. just talk to your doctor and discuss options.

When I took either Desogen or Demulen (I forget which) I didn't have a withdrawl bleed... which freaked me out. I went to student health (I was in college) and was told that was normal, not a problem... they gave a pregnancy test which was neg and said just start the next pack as usual... but I switched brands because I didn't like that. So years later on Yasmin when I didn't have a bleed, I didn't think anything of it... but turns out I was pregnant.

So if you miss a bleed... it might mean nothing, but if you are sexually active, take a pregnancy test just in case.

Yasmin is designed to cause lighter AF, by the way...doesn't mean you aren't pregnant if you completely miss, but they are supposed to be shorter and lighter (at least according to their commercials and my personal experience). I went down to about a day and a half and only needed pantiliners.

I'm on Mircette and right now my period is really light and lasts about 3 days. When I first started on the pill it lasted about 5-7 days and was very heavy. Now it always shows up right at the end of the placebo week too. So much for "period free weekends" since I'm a Sunday start. I've been on Mircette for two years and my gyno said it's normal for periods to get really light or even stop after that length of time. That's because the pill makes the endometrial lining very thin, and eventually it can become so thin that you have no period.

Thanks, Amanda

That's good to here. My endo seems to think it's a problem (lighter/absent periods). I will see him in August and I will let you know what he says.

I hope it really is normal for you too. I'm currently getting AF on Sunday (the day I start a new pack!) and it ends on Tuesday. I used to get it on Wednesday and it would end on Tuesday when I first started the pill and it became regular. If it does stop, I know I'll panic and start calling my doctor even though she expects it to stop.

Ive been on Yasmin for 2 yrs (since giving birth to DD), and this is the second or third time that AF is no show. I took my last pill on Sat, and today is Sat (a wk later) and still no AF. I am suppose to start a new pack tomorrow. I might have to make an appt to see my OB to get my pills switched.

i'm on diane and have been on it before. last time it was heaven - i knew what hour my period would come, not just the day! then i had to stop it for a while. now i'm back on it with androcur and if i take them at opposite times of the day all month i don't get a period, but if i take them within a few hours of each other i get one. go figure.
maybe you should mess around with the times you take any other medication your on.
