Any of you on Yaz who don't bleed at all or who didn't just for the first few months on Yaz?
I found a few posts where people said that they had no period at all on Yaz, but they were all just starting out, like me. I haven't taken BCP in 10 years, and have always had very regular very painful periods. My Gyn put me on Yaz because my PCP told me to stop taking NSAIDs due due to tests that suggest I might have slightly reduced kidney function.
The first month on Yaz I had breakthrough bleeding and bled constantly and heavily for about 8 days. The 2nd month, I never had anything but the very lightest of spotting during the 4 days of inactive pills. This month, I didn't even have spotting, so I decided to delay starting the active pills for 7 days instead of the normal 4 to see if my body would recognize it was time for a withdrawal bleed. I figured I'm pretty old, and maybe my hormones are forgetting what to do. On the 6th & 7th day, I finally see some pantiliner style spotting, but it's time to start active pills again.
I know it can take up to six months for your body to get adjusted to BCP, and I really don't care if I never bleed again. I'm going to give it another month or two before I call the doctor because everything I read tells me it's OK if you don't bleed while on BCP. They thin the uterus lining, and the lower the dose of estrogen, the thinner the lining becomes. There's no chance I'll get pregnant in my current single state, so it's no big deal. Just wondered if anybody else had the same experience and what your doctor did about it, if anything.
Yaz did not work for me, i took it for 2 1/2 weeks never stopped my bleeding, so he switched me to Ovcon 50, still didn't work for me..so i had a d&c, still didn't stop the bleeding..so i got the depo provera shot, it's been 5 days, yep, still bleeding heavy..the other shot i can get is Lupron, it's $500 a month every month for a year..some insurances dont cover it...it seems like nothing will stop my bleeding..UGH!! i'm so tired of bleeding..lol..and of course, so is my husband!! hope it all works out for ya

im currently on yaz rite now you probaly dont get yout period because the estrogen is so low your body cant reconize that its gone ask your dr 2 switch you 2 yasmin i used 2 take that
I have an update on my experience with Yaz. After only spotting for months 2 and 3, in the 4th month, I bled for 2 or 3 days. My period was much lighter than it was without BCPs, but definitely a flow, not just spotting. So if you have this problem, give Yaz a chance. I don't want to take anything with higher estrogen because of my age and family history of breast cancer, and Loestrin 24 made me retain fluid in my legs.
I have a period on Yaz, but it is much much lighter than normal. It lasts about the same amount of time, but is so light, I don't even need a tampon (sorry if TMI). All I need is a liner.

This is the end of my second pack of pills. After the first pack I didn't have one at all. Started spotting on day5 of 2nd pack. Today I will take the last pill. Good news is I stopped spotting. Bad news I'm Af with a vengence. My tummy is hurting a lot right now. Of course, that will happen when you don't have a period since Jan.

I just stopped taking Yaz after 2 months. At the beginning, it seemed okay, but after the first week or so, I started bleeding, and bled through the entire cycle. Once I started the second pack, I stopped bleeding... and started feeling weird. I didn't get my period though, and felt really weird, to the point where I thought I was pregnant. I didn't start my new pack, and I got my period on day 6... a tiny stain of pink... and then I passed a mucus plug, like a pregnant woman. It is day 8 now, and I'm finally having brown and red staining, but still not enough to need a pad. It's too weird for me, so I'm not going to continue with Yaz.
No period on Yaz?
