Question No poop??? (TMI alert)

I started taking met 5 days ago / 850 mg 1X a day... The first day I had a little diarrhea (only one trip to the bathroom and not that bad)... the second day... nothing... The third diarrhea... but again only one time and not painful of crampy... Days 3 & 4.. nothing... Today I upped my dose to 850 2X a day as instructed by my doctor and stayed home to be near the bathroom... and... nothing... Is this strange??? I have had a lot of queesiness... but have never felt like I would actually vomit... I have been extremely tired...

I usually have a bowel movement once a day... so I was ready for an increase along with the cramping that eveyone talks about..

Should I consider myself lucky or be worried that I am having the oppisite side effects as everyone else?

Thank you so much for your advice,

Jamie

Hi jampri

I am having the same troubles. I have just upped mine to 1500mg a day but am finding this too much and causing me to have stomach/wind pains but unable to go to the toilet. I am also getting a feeling of queesiness but not to the point of throwing up. 1000mg was ok for me, so I am going to drop myself back down to that and just let my doctor know.

I have been thinking aobut maybe buying some natural fibre type drink and seeing if that helps, but thats just something else I have to remember to take!! I might be going on blood pressure tablets in the next week or so(depending if it comes down a little more again) so with them, met and vitamins I would be wondering where to fit it in!!! LOL

I dont really have any answers for you, but just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I asked a similar question the other day and got someone else saying they have the same as us!! Aint PCOS and its medications s/e just grand!!!

Same here, two days of diarrhea and then 180 degree turn on full stop! Based on an earlier post, someone suggested eating lettuce to "loosen things up." I've tried fiber pills and they don't help. Coffee sometimes does though.

I'm a little different. The first week I started on Met @ 500mg a day, I had one day of diarrhea and nothing since. I've now upped the dose to 1000mg a day and doing fine with regular bowl movements. I have had a lot of gas and feeling queezy but other than that I'm fine.
