Do you think my dosage needs to be upped? I am currently on 500mg (2x daily). i have reduced my calories ALOT and am probably consuming 800 (or less) calories/day. Could this be the reason for no s/e? |

My Mood: Points: 3,102.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,102.90 | I am right there with ya on this one. I am taking the same dosage and have had no side effects at all (been on met for about 10 days now). I have however, started a period all on my own thanks to the met! Yea for me! My doctor is upping the dose next week (1500mg) so here's to no side effects with that dosage either! I do think that diet probably plays a big part in the no S/E thing. My dietician told me what to eat and I'm stickin to it! Good luck!

Points: 334.81 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 334.81 | I am having the same problem. No s/e at all. I started on 1000mg and nothing. I guess we are just lucky. Doc said I was IR but I got my period in the first week?? I am also on Meridia / Reductil so I think this will assist with the weight loss.
I did a silly thing and ate bad food to see if I would get the s/e and still nothing. I am sure that it is still working though.
Good luck to you all |

My Mood: Points: 3,102.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,102.90 | I was basically told to increase my intake of fruits and vegetables, cut back on meat, except fish...low cal, low fat, no fructose corn syrup in ingredients. ya know the basic diet your Dr always stresses. My friend told me about this book and diet that she had been doing, but it makes it a little easier to know what is ok and what is not. It is called the GI Diet. I got the book and it has helped. All the foods are assigned a red light, green light, or yellow light, so it made it much easier than having to check the nutritional value on every box in the grocery store!

My Mood: Points: 19,151.70 Bank: 61,165.09 Total Points: 80,316.79 | I never really have any side effects from taking 1000 mg, either. But it did work for me--within two months, it regulated my AF to every 32 days, and on the third month, I got pg.
A couple of weeks ago, I bumped up to 1700 mg--and it was miserable. Not the GI issues, but just overal sickness--headache, shaky, icky. So, I cut back to 1000, because even though I didn't lose weight like I'd hoped at that dosage, at least I wasn't sick and it had to be working as evidenced by the return of AF!
Good luck!!!
