no spotting/bleeding still having a miscarriage?

At 6wks pregnant we went in for an u/s, baby was smaller than norm but heard heartbeat and was assured everything looked OK. Fast forward to today 8wks, went in for another u/s still having NO spotting or bleeding this pregnancy and the Dr. sees no activity, no heartbeat. The walls crashed down on me, I could not believe what Iwas hearing. I have sore bb's, urinating all night and no bleeding!! How is this happening?? Why havent I had any symptoms of a miscarriage?? He had said the baby stopped growing about a week ago and that I could pass is naturally or have an D&C. Has anyone ever experineced this before and if Im not bleeding now how long would it be until I "naturally pass" it? I don t know if I could handle going another week knowing what is going on in there

I'm sorry for your situation. I also had a "missed miscarriage" (which is what this is called) and I had no symptoms at all for at least four weeks. By the time it was diagnosed, we had to schedule a D&C because you don't want it to go on longer than a month. I had a few slight symptoms two or three days before the D&C - a few drier dark brown blood patches. It's hard to tell when it will pass naturally, as it may not. I personally wanted it out -- I didn't want to see anything at that point. Mentally I could cope better by shifting into a mode where the pregnancy had never really existed -- the hardest part for me was seeing that u/s with the classic picture of an embryo that just happened to have no heartbeat. I'm still not sure I ever wanted to see that.

Do get a follow-on u/s for your own piece of mind. That was the standard practice for my doctor -- they do the first one in the office and if it doesn't look good they send you for a high-resolution one at a radiology center.

I also had a missed miscarriage. I had to have a d and c also. I still had all my symtoms. PM me if you need to talk.

Thank you for your experiences and support. I never even heard of a missed miscarriage until now? After some thought I decided what would be best for me, to help move on is to just get a D&C. I too really do not want to see or my biggest fear is to pass the fetus while Iam at work. Im hoping that with time it does get a little less sadder and maybe easier to deal with. Thanks again

Im sorry for ur loss hun. I had a mc in the past but I did have some minor spotting of a darkish color. It would be harder to me if I waited. But then again while I was waiting for my d & c i did pass some stuff. The doc also gave me a d&c to clean me out too. Although at home I only passed cltos and the baby during d & c. What was weird though, I was sent home knowing there was no heart beat and I was awoke in the middle of the night with a snapping feeling in my lower tummy. I sat up in my bed and felt water like stuff gush out. I then went to the bathroom and saw some kindof skin tissue. I think maybe my water or something broke. Then that was followed by some clots and lots of blood. The doc that did the d & c said that the baby was still in there when he did it. I still today wonder what it was. Was it my water breaking or what?!?! I dunno. Lots of luck hun and take care! I hope things get better for u really soon <3
