Default Norethindrone to regulate periods??

Has anyone been put on Norethindrone 5mg to regulate their periods because no other BC's were doing the job? My endocrinologist just switched me to this 3 days ago because both Seasonique and Necon 1/35 failed to keep me from getting AF. I started Seasonique at the beginning of September to which I bled for 2 weeks straight and then would not stop spotting. She then changed me from Seasonique to Necon 1/35 and the spotting did not stop. I was then told to take Necon 1/35 two a day for 5 days and that did stop the bleeding, but then the following week I got my normal AF which is what we are trying to stop (since I have heavy periods my doc is trying to get me to only have a period once every 3 months to let the Endo slow down with growing). After this regular period I continue on the Necon 1/35 and then a week after my period finishes, I start bleeding again. That brings us to this past Friday where my doc told me to stop the Necon 1/35 and start taking this Norethindrone 5mg medication, but take 2 pills per day at night before going to bed.

Everything I have read on this Norethindrone medication is all about helping people with Endo to HAVE a period, but nothing about helping to keep a period from happening.

Also, for anyone taking this stuff, what side effects did you have in the first few days? I'm feeling nauseas, but I can't tell if that is because of the meds or because I'm getting over the flu. Also, it feels like I have to run to the restroom every other minute, but I have nothing to give the magic porcelain bowl (tmi).

Thanks in advance.
