Well I have been one busy bee trying to learn more about PCOS now that i have been diagnoses. I have to say, this board is awesome.. it has definitely helped a lot and I am learning so much. Now, i have a question. Before i knew what PCOS was, i was aware that i have facial hair, the acne, and weight and they bothered me of course. But now it seems they are bothering me a LOT more. I can’t look in a mirror without focusing on that awful facial hair. And i feel like the fattest person in the world and I worry i will never be able to lose any weight. Did any of you go through the same thing of becoming more self conscious about your appearance after you were diagnosed? Or am i just overreacting? I just needed to vent, sorry everyone! Just been kinda emotional lately. Take care,

Your feelings are definitely normal...I still struggle with the facial hair and acne (even more so than the extra lbs I need to lose). Good news is there are treatments and options for both. But, the main thing is learning to accept yourself for who you are.
Yes, you have found an the most awesome and best place to learn about PCOS. You will find great support.
Welcome to SC!!!!

I'm gonna stop looking back and starting moving on
And learn how to face my fears
Love with all of my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here
Go out on a ledge, without any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah, I wanna be running
When the sand runs out
- Rascall Flatts "When the Sand Runs Out"
You're totally normal... I feel the same way, although I can't share the same pain with the facial hair... I haven't been to bad... I've noticed some, but it's only to me, no one else notices, my hair has no colour so it doesn't show up...
Educating yourself is the best thing... That's what I've been doing and since I have PCOS doesn't seem so daunting as it did when I was first dx'd...
I have a couple of books that I am going through, if you want to know the names, let me know, I'll pass on the names...
Good Luck
