Question Is it normal?!?!?!

I'm 26, been married for 2 1/2 years to a wonderful man, lost 3 pregnancies, and finally got diagnosed with PCOS. I've been on metformin now for 3 weeks, and the bloating is about to seriously kill me.
I've read over some of the other threads about this topic, and I can't tell if it ever goes away. Because to be honest, this is just plain miserable. As I'm sure alot of you can agree.
I'm just really looking for a light at the end of the tunnell. Does it exsist.
I'm going to do some more research on it, but any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Patience K

Hi Patience,
Welcome to SC! I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your 3 pregnancies. Have you been tested for a progesterone deficiency? Have you had repeated pregnancy loss testing? You may want to visit the pregnancy loss forum if you feel that would be of help to you.

In reference to the met, for me it did get better, but it took 4-6 weeks. I was terribly bloated and felt miserable. I spoke with my dr and what I needed to do was to cut down on the amount of carbs I was eating. When I started reducing my carbs and upped my protein intake I noticed a huge difference. Do you know if your health insurance would cover a visit to a nutritionist? Perhaps he/she could help you formulate a diet that would help with the bloating. You may also want to visit the diet and exercise forum to see what other "cysters" are doing.

Good luck to you~

I agree that certain foods can make the bloating worse. Try cutting out green foods (lettuce, cabbage, etc.) and if that doesn't help try reducing refined carbs.

It will get better after a few months. It is sooooooooooooo worth it to stick it out. It took my body 3-6 months to get used to it.
