Default Is this normal?

I just had my second misscarriage (10 weeks) My first m/c was at 16 weeks and I was induced and went through that whole ordeal. This time we say a beating heart twice on u/s. I had spotting at 7 weeks but u/s after showed baby was growing and ok. Anyway, went to high risk specialist at the advice of my obgyn and he did and u.s. The sac and amniotic fluid was there but the baby was gone. I had no indication I was miscarrying. They said it probably had been a couple of weeks and my body absorbed the baby. BUT STILL NO BLEEDING. How long will it take? Has anyone else ever experienced this? I have an appt on April 12 to do an u.s to see if sack it still there and then talk about D& C I really want this to happen naturally but I am also worried about infection if it refuses to pass soon. I am due for a period the first week of next month so maybe that will bring it on. I just feel like such a freak. I never knew you could lose a baby without any signs. UGH. Bamaca

Unfortunately this story happens all too often. My close friend discovered her identical situation at twelve weeks and had to have a d&c. Maybe they could give you some sort of oral medication to get things moving.
I myself am waiting to start a full bleed after a second loss. Our u/s showed no sac last week, so I'm just waiting for a new cycle to start after three weeks of spotting.
I hope this gets easier for you and the third time's the charm for both of us.

I'm sorry to hear this ladies.

I went to a specialist to try & conceive. The third time I became pregnant, but had a miscarriage very early on. The only reason I knew this was because of the high tech ulta sound equipment used as I did not bleed. The specialist gave me tablets instead of a D & C. It was one of the hardest things I had to do, even though deep down I knew I had to take them.

I wasn't going to carry on with the treatment, but eventually did.
My son kevin was the result.,, but only a few people know of my PCOS & how he was conceived as I felt I was the only woman with this condition

Please,please never give up
You will be in my thoughts too.

If you want to email me please feel free to do so

Simone

When I questioned my RE about not bleeding either, he said that sometimes the body absorbs the tissue. He said that he has several patients that m/c'd & they didn't need a D&C or anything b/c their bodies absorbed everything. I didn't need a D&C at all and 1 month after I found out I m/c'd I bled which my RE said was AF (which I never ever get on my own w/o Provera!).

I would definately go in & get a beta done to see if your #'s keep going down. If they get all the way to 0 & you don't bleed, you know your body absorbed everything. Your #'s will probably come down pretty fast but it they plateau then usually you do need a D&C.

Good Luck & {{{HUGS}}}

Sorry to hear of all of the loses. Dont know if this will help or not but here was my situation. I had my first u/s last Thursday 3/25 and dr said it looked like a blighted ovum. Did bloodwork, went back Monday 3/29. It was a BO. Just the sac no fetus. I never had any bleeding. Doctor wanted to do a D&C, because if my didn’t absorb, I could hemorrhage. Had the D&C on Tuesday 3/30. Still only a little bleeding, due to the surgery but that is it. Have a follow up appt with RE on Monday 4/5. Would imagine that we would give me Provera to start a period.

Forgot to mention day of D&C would have been 8 weeks along

Thanks ladies for the responses and support. I still haven't had any signs of bleeding. Every time I get a funny cramp I freak out and think this is it. I guess I will just wait until my appt at this point. I am still registering pregnant on a hpt. I thought if maybe I absorbed it all it wouldn't show. But I guess I am finding out HCG can stay in your system even after a D&C. So that told me nothing. The thing that is bad is that I still have symptoms. My breasts are still sore, I get nauseated every now and then. feeling tired. It just makes me sad that my body still thinks I'm pregnant Anyway, thanks again for your concern. God bless you all. I'm so sorry that this happend to you. It was very close to what happened to me but I did spot for 3 weeks before I went in. I didn't know I ws pg. That was on 2/25, and the dr said the embryo dissloved but I still had the sac intact. He then gave me antibotics and told me to go to the ER if I started having contractions and heavy bleeding, which with the help from some medicine he gave me it started on 3/2 in the middle of the night so I went to the ER and was admitted and had D&C on 3/3. He was really concerned about infection. So that is why I went ahead and had a D&C, I did not want a bad infection and I had already missed to many days of class. I was 8 weeks along. I will pray for you and I wish you the best of luck with this. Tracy

Bamaca,

I am so sorry for your loss, you and your family will be in my prayers.

Perhaps you can ask your doctor for misoprostol (spelling?). That is what my midwife gave me, it makes you contract really hard.

I am going through the same thing for the second time. At first I was told my beta wasn't doubling as it should and than after 5 weeks of continuing to increase they did an u/s. First time last year when this happened they saw only a sac. This time to everyones shock there was a heartbeat at 6 weeks. We couldn't believe and dr thought everything looked good. I really thought this was the time. I did have IVF. Went for second u/s yesterday at 8 weeks and nothing not even any sign of a sack. I had no cramping no spotting no bleeding. My doctor thinks I should m/c by next week sometime. Like last time he told me this early on it is better to wait and go naturally. He left the option of a D&C open but all though it seems like it will take forever I will try to stick it out. I asked him if he could find anything out from testing after a d&C and he didn't seem to think so or at least nothing that will help. I still can't believe there was no sign of anything. It is hard to believe it just disolves so quickly with no sign. I can't believe how depressed I am this time. If only I didn't see the heartbeat. I was ready for the m/c. Or as ready as you could be.

I am so sorry Delila. It has been two weeks today since they said there was no baby, just the sac and amniotic fluid. And still nothing. Every little cramp I get I think this is it. I go next Monday for either a follow up (if I pass it naturally) or he will do a u/s and see whats let and I am sure they will want me to do a D&C. Actually, I am pretty ready for that. I feel like I am in limbo. I still feel pregnant in a lot of ways. I guess I don't have any closure. I had braced myself to lose this pregnancy too. But we had 2 u/s that showed the heart beating. The doctor called this one a "fighter". It is heartbreaking. It actually helps to know that this does happen. I was beginning to feel like a freak. Twice I have had babies die and no physical signs at all. I guess I thought I would be more "in tune" with my body. I even asked the Dr. at the 2nd u/s if there was anyway I could lose the baby and not know it. He told me I was far enough along I would definately experience cramping and bleeding. Anyway my prayers are with you. Never lose hope. I believe in miracles. God bless. Bamaca

Bamaca-
I know it is strange isn't it. How you don't even know. All my doctor kept asking was NO Cramping or bleeding at all. He was very surprised too. At 8 weeks you would think you would know. I totally understand how you feel and I was also prepared for this until they saw a heartbeat. It stinks still feeling pregnant and not knowing you aren't, but I think it is worse knowing your not pregnant and still having the symptoms. I am still tired and always hungry and still peeing non stop. I had about enough of this. My last m/c was pretty bad so just waiting and not knowing when it will occur is no picnic either. I don't remember if you said this was a natural pregnancy for you? I thought I was set when they at least figured out why I wasn't getting pregnant. Now if only he could figure out why I can't stay pregnant. It might not matter anyway...DH has had enough of this and is ready to give up. He said he can't go through this again and he said the worst part is seeing me go through this. Maybe he will change his mind.
Take care of yourself and let me know how things are going for you I will be thinking of you and praying for all of us.
Delila

Delila

I got pregnant on 2000 mg metformin and low carbing. Both tiimes I have been pregnant it was a surprise and I was on an insulin sensitizing drug and low carbing. Anyway, I know exactly how you are feeling. I actually feel worse for people who were trying and taking all sorts of treatments to get pregnant and then m/c. It makes me more sad for them. Don't worry about your husband. Mine told me he couldn't take it anymore and he wanted to go get a vaesectomy. Then a few days later. He looked at me and said I want to try again. This is just an emotional roller coaster. Ya know, I felt said when he said he didn't want to try anymore. Then I felt sad when he said he did want to try. My emotions are just all messed up. I will be praying for you and your husband. God bless Bamaca
