Default Normal Blood sugar levels..I feel better..YIPIEEEEEE

Hello..So i started Metformin about a week ago, and i started off way to high of a dose, and had to lower myself to 500mg a day, now im taking 1000 without much stomach discomfort, but before starting this my blood sugars were all over the place, i could not keep them normal, high, low, high, low, which of course makes you feel awful. But with the met ive had to lower my insulin dosage by 10 units, but it needs to go lower, because im actually having to eat snacks to keep it normal, but anyways..its actually staying normal..no more up and down, and i feel GREAT! I thought it took alot longer than this to work, so i was shocked when with my normal insulin dose i was having several lows a day, then when i lowered my insulin im staying normal all the time.. I'm just so thrilled! I was hoping that i could really reduce my need for insulin and lose weight by taking the met, since losing weight has seemed impossible! Blah we all know how that story goes! Anyways im just happy that i finally feel good and have some energy!

You need the Met to make your insulin receptors sensitive to the insulin you are injecting. I can't control my sugars on insulin alone, my dr kept me on the metformin when he switched me to insulin. Mind at the moment my sugars are not stable as I am still trying to get rid of a virus. Glad you feel better and it is much better to be able to lower the amount of insulin you inject, congratulations...
