Unhappy Is it normal to be this upset?

I've been reading about this for a good week now while my Dr was on vacation. And I just got the results yesterday. I knew it was coming though, so why am I so upset? I left work when I found out yesterday, and I didn't go in today........I just feel like it's going to be impossible for me to have children, I feel like the metformin is going to be horrible when it comes to being at work, I feel like I'm just gonna lose it.

I feel like I'm all alone, I know I'm not, and I can see by reading through this board that alot of people feel like that, but it's so hard. I just feel like no one knows about this or what it means, hell I don't even know what it means yet........

is this normal? this'll pass once I get used to it right?

Yea, it all is so very overwelming at first!!!
The more information you know the more you can deal with your symptoms. There is also the alternative route instead of Metformin.
I've done both. I personally love Metformin. It is rough at first with the side effects, but I feel awesome while on it.
It is not impossible for us PCOSers to get pregnant. There are many many many women here who have children. It just takes us a bit more to actually get pregnant than "normal" women.
You are not alone. I understand the no one knows or understands what PCOS is. Everyone I tried to explain it to was like, "huh?"...."PCOS?"
Once you get used to it, you'll be able to deal with it more.
All I know is from coming here to Soulcysters. I've been here a couple of years, and don't know what I would have done if I didn't find this site.
Hope to see ya stick around.
Hang in there!!!

Melzie I just wanted to say that you are right you are not alone. There are many women on this site that can offer a plethora of information and support. If you need anything do not hesitate to ask. May I ask how long you have been ttc? What methods have you tried?
Hang in there you will see the silver lining soon enough!!!
Lots of Hugs and Babydust!!!

PM if you just need to talk.

HUgs to you!

When I found out I also left work early, and had a real rough time with it. IT is tough to deal with it, and I won't lie, I still have some rough times with PCOS.

Make sure you have a doctor who is on your side. My doctor had one goal in mind, to get me to lose weight. I am now looking for a new one who will help me with my dream to have children. It's not over just because of a diagnosis. Anytime you need to talk, feel free to pm me. My family still doesn't understand this, and they all are fine, no pcos ANYWHERE and no problems with getting pregnant. Keep your chin up, educate yourself, and remember you have the right to be upset, but there are women here to help you through it all!

Hey all

I totally relate to what you're saying - and big hugs to you. As you will see, we are all here for you and to tell you the truth I don't know what emotional/physical state I'd be in without this website and the cysters.

For me, it peaks and troughs. At the beginning it's so much to take in and there maybe a little self-pitying, hating and/or loathing, but it does get easier. The best medicine I can offer is to keep talking about things, it always helps to get stuff off your chest - a problem shared....and all that.

Lots and lots of hugs to you.

Amandaxxx
