So, after closing all of the Ontario locations, the Outback Steakhouse reopened in Niagara Falls in the Spring. It's Owen's favourite place, so the inlaws took us there last night. Everything is the same. The food is the same, the decor is the same. The service is the same. But the prices are not. They've gone from about $23 for a steak (still not cheap, but better than most franchise places in Niagara Falls) to over $30 for the same one. Their cheapest cut is now over $25, and it's a piddly piece of sirloin. They still have free bread, but you have to ask for it, or they won't even offer it. And my mother in law got a martini and it cost over $12!!
We won't be going back. Now I have to figure out where to buy a cutter to make my own Bloomin' Onions (the reason Owen loves going there so much).

I don't know where you are in Canada, and how long it would take you to get there...but there is this amazing place called Texas Roadhouse on Colvin Boulevard in North Tonawanda. It is soo good!
Carebear, I'm quite close to the boarder, but I never go over. Even before we needed passports. I haven't been "over the river" in more than a decade now. I can't see waiting on a bridge for an hour just to get some dinner. No place is that good.
I like the Keg too, but it's not really a kid place. At least not the one here. And for our son, it really is all about the onion.
