hi everyone. i'm 23/bisexual but in a long-term lesbian relationship. i don't ever plan on having children (mostly because i always thought i COUDLN'T have children - until this week when i was diagnosed with pcos and my doctor said i would be able to have children in the future. thinking about children is still a long ways off for my partner and i and i'm still not sure that i even want them. =) anyway. aside from birth control 'starting your period' isnt it still not a true period? i don't really understand why i need to have it anyway. is this completely ignorant of me? i would like to get rid of my other pcos symptoms (belly weight, hair issues) but i have never minded NOT having a period. anyone else? i've just been put on birth control and a low dose of metformin. i took it today and have a headache and stomach pains... yes. lol i heard that should go away after a while taking it though.... anyway. happy thanksgiving everyone! i'm thankful to everyone who shares their stories on here!!! i do not feel so alone anymore. take care, lovely lezzies

You can just be on the Met, without being on the BCP. Sometimes that alone will regulate you.

The reason you need to be regular, is that if you aren't, it can make for a cancer ripe environment in the uterine lining, since you aren't shedding it.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving too!

I am not taking any medication so I would not be the best. But they do like to put you on birth control to regulate the period for the reasons Betwixt mentioned above, but also they say it is supposed to help lower the pain from Endo and PCOS. It has not for me so I havent been taking any but it works for some.

Happy thanksgiving!!
