Hello Ladies,
Just wanted to post a message and let people know that I have come back to the soulcysters after an absence of about 2 yrs. Had a lot of stuff to do, and still have a lot to do, but I feel that there are not enough people in my life who understand PCOS and sometimes you need support from people who are going thru the same thing. I have a wonderful husband, and a supportive family-in-law, but only those who have PCOS really know and understand.
I am interested in getting in touch with women who have chosen not to have children, as I know most women who find out they have PCOS do so while in the process of trying to get pregnant. That was my case also, but after three years of almost trying and not being around children my husband and I decided that children may not be right for the type of lifestyle we lead. I have wonderful friends who never had children and wonderful neices and nephews if I ever feel the need for a little surrogate parenting! Anyway, I wanted to get in touch like I said and just share my ideas and get ideas from them. Things like birth control and period regulation are really weighing heavy on my mind, I wish I could just have a hysterectomy and be done with the whole thing. I'll take premature menopause over PCOS anyday, but I am too young for any doctor to even consider it (only 26) and still not positive about the baby thing (I think).
I live in Jacksonville, Florida and work for a company that sells stock photography. I am a image keyworder and spend my entire work day looking at about 80-130 photographs and adding descriptive words to them so that people can find them while searching on the companies website. Basically, a big vocabulary and the patience to sit all day. I'm in the process of trying to write a book, as my friend's husband is a type of editor and he said he would be willing to try to publish my work after he read some of it. I also love to paint and am currently working on several paintings. That's just a few things, but I wanted to let people know who I am is all.
Well, I have rambled on enough. Need to wash the dishes and take out the dog, but hopefully will talk to someone soon!

I didn't get pg until I was 27. I was 11 days shy of turning 28 when I delivered my one and only son.
So you just never know what could be around the corner.
BTW...If for some reason you choose to do BC surgically, please have DH get fixed!! Any surgery can cause additional problems like scar tissue and endometreosis!!
let me know if you need details!

Trying to get DH to go under the knife will probably never happen, unless I knock him out first! But it's an idea I talked to him about before, he didn't seem to happy about it. I just really am tired of pumping my body full of hormones when the ones I do have don't work normally anyway. I've already tried three types of BCPs and they all have caused bad side effects (raise blood pressure, headaches, intense head pressure) that I'm tired of trying to figure them out and wasting my money.
I'm already predisposed to the high blood pressure through my father and diabetes through my mother, so I can't win either way. I take med's for HBP already and Xanax to help keep me calm (panic attacks). I told the doc he should diagnose me a basket case. I also have a divided and retroverted uterus. It has a septum like in your nose and it is pushing backwards instead of the usual falling forwards, not to mention all the cysts on the ovaries one of which was enlarged the last time I had an ultrasound. So I'm really messed up down there anyway!
Have they suggested doing a split surgery for your uteris?
I have been told that increases the chances of carrying full term.
If you are having adverse reaction to the BCP's, it may be a number of things. If your body is producing too much estrogen, it could be reacting with endometreosis. And with your reverted uteris, you stand a high chance of having or developing andenomyosis(sp?) Which progestin can cause pelvic pain, severe PMS symptoms, severe cramping, long bleeds, Progestin will make this worse.
So if you happen to have both Endo and Andeno...any form of BCP will cause you great harm. If you have one or the other, then you should only take either estrogen or progestin, depending on what you do have.
Then have a muscle sensitivity to Gluc and all he!l breaks loose!
Sucks, I know. I lived it!!
