Today I got a GTT and I wondered if you can tell if you have I-R or diabetes by the way you felt during the test. I felt terrible, first after drinking I felt super dizzy and sick to my stomach, next I felt super sleepy and and hour after, I was asleep on the bed in an extra room.
Please tell me what happened to you when you took the Glucose Tolerance Test and if you can tell if you have it by how you feel?

I first felt hyper. Then I had the I had to pee all the time... Within an Hour I was asleep. And I slept thru the rest of the test, past the end of it. They'd extended it some. Because my sugar levels didn't come down at all. Yup... I'm type two diabetic.
Best of luck to you.

I would REALLY like some help on this. Waiting for the results is driving me crazy and I am dying to know how you all felt when you got tested for diabetes. Please tell me, it doesnt have to be long.

Acrowe ,
I am type II diabetic!
It was a real fun roller coaster ride learning about this all. I am doing good now I tried Met and Actos and both made me really really sick. So for now I am doning diet control and so far so good. My last A1c was 4.8 !!! (under the non-diabetic range) and hope to keep it there. My PCP would like to put me back on the Met to see if that might help with the weight loss and I am fighting her not to this due to I am lossing for the 1st time in about 6 yrs. If you have any other questions please feel free to PM or whatever.

Yay, I suppose I am not diabetic!!! My doc says my #s look good. The only not so good things were the testosterone levels (duh) and my bad cholesterol.
Testosterone is 99, LDL 157, Total Cholesterol 197 (down from 258!)
Good luck with the testoterone. Some drs will do the glucophage for that, others won't. The cholesterol... well that's meds and diet too. Sorry But that's still not horrible.
Good luck and keep working hard. You can do it.
