Anyways, i was diagnosed a year ago with PCOS, and a while after my ankles started swelling up...BAD to the point i couldnt walk without help.The pain of it was just horrible too..no amount of Asprin/Aleve could help the pain or the swelling! I went to my doc (non-obgyn) and he gave me Lasix and potassium which has helped a tremendous amount! My ankles still swell, but its nothing like it used to be...
Is this all part of PCOS? has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!
It falls back on how your body is producing and using insulin.
I have found Glucosamine and Chondroitin are wonderful helpers along with the potasium. I bought mine at Costco under the brand name of Schiff's Move Free Triple strength.

I get swelling very rarely... so my method of treating might not be the best... but my doctor told me to drink water! I know sounds funny but it helps it really does. Also it might if you take a look at your eating habits... I know mine are okay but I could improve and when I really goof up I notice the swelling!
And oh Hunny! Do my feet and ankles look like elephant feet!
I was on Lasix originally, and then HTZC, and now back on
Lasix.
Don't you love multiple bathroom trips!
Yes! Drinking water does help! I thought my doctor had
lost his ever-loving mind when he said that, but he was
right.
The best thing though was when I was avoiding sugar, and
following the diabetic diet. They really went down!
But I have had knee surgeries on both my knees, and some
swelling is from that.
Does one foot swell worse than the other? My right one is much
worse than my left.

I get slight swelling once in a while, but not quite as bad as you described. OUCH! It sounds painful. I hope that is not something you will have to go through again.

When the Dr put me on Actos, she said some of my swelling
could be from that medicine.
Are you taking anything like Actos?
