Unhappy Not sure what this is can anyone help?

Hi Im a 21 year old with PCOS. I have alot of problems going on but I am not sure if this specific problem has to do with my PCOS or not. I have a cyst or swollen gland in my armpit. It is about an inch and a half in diameter. I have had it for the better part of 6 months. However my real concern is that it is ALWAYS leaking. It has not stopped since the day I realized I had it. It has 2 holes in it that never seem to close or stop. I hate to be graphic but blood and and orange liquid come out of it. I have no insurance and I am trying to figure out if it is just a cyst that I can deal with at home somehow or if I should really go to a doctor. I am tight on money and am already paying out of my own pocket to see a doctor this week about cervical cancer so I really need some direction on what it could be and what I can do. Me being me is also worried that it could be connected to cervical cancer. I am so confused please help!!

Hi there, it sounds like this :- Hidradenitis suppurativa (boil/cyst in armpit or groin)

uncomfortable and embarrassing but not cancerous, when you can I'd mention it to your doctor as it sounds like it needs removing properly or certainly getting looked at

Thank you. I had a cyst drained from my tailbone two years ago. Would it be a similar process? Like an in office that day?

Whoa, lots and lots of bacteria in the armpit, not a cool place to have an open wound. If you absolutely can not get to a Dr I reccomened keeping it very clean, using an anti bacterial ointment (or that orange liquid stuff that I can never remember the name of - iodine I think?) and keeping it covered with something better than a sticking plaster.

Clean it every day and every night.

I had a boil whilst in Thailand and that is what the Dr told me to do (he cleaned it all out for me though) and due to Thailand being very dirty he stressed keeping it clean.

If you still have it next time you get to a Dr do get it checked and cleaned as cells can change if they are consistently under infection.

I hope it gets better soon!

Clean the area with a good anti-bacterial soap (I like Dial),slather it with triple antibitotic ointment, and cover it. You can also use Boil Ease to help draw the pus and crud out. If you use the Boil Ease, I recommend using it at night and covering it with a gauze pad. Then you can clean it really good in the mornng. Ask the dr that you will see this week to take a look at it.

I have also had this problem and I agree with Eva. These are good suggestions. I know this can be uncomfortable. :-(
