Default Not sure what's going on..

New here, first post. I've always been hairy, which I blamed on being half Mexican. My mother, my aunts, my sister. We all have more visible hair. It hasn't actually bothered me too much. I was brought up to believe it was normal, and I still consider it to be normal. It's not really thick and curly. Just long and darker. I also have a little male-type hair growth under my chin and on the sides of my face as well that I pluck and shave daily. The more I look at my face, the more I notice new (well maybe I just never noticed them) hairs though. I actually have finer brown hairs allover. From my cheeks to my forehead. I even have a couple of finer hairs on my wrist area.

I haven't been diagnosed with pcos, but my doctor suspects that I might have it. I don't have insurance, so i can't afford testing. She prescribed me ortho-novum, spiro, and metformin which I've been taking for the past couple months. However I'm not sure that I have PCOS (I stopped taking the metformin). I've never missed a period, I'm not losing hair, I'm not overweight...Just really hairy with a pimple here and there.

So I'm not sure what's going on with me. Hoping that some women here can give me some insight on PCOS. I'm going to go to my doc tomorrow, and I'd love to learn as much as I can!

p.s. I've read that my type of hair growth (cheeks, forehead) is more likely caused by androgen sensitivity or thyroid problems. Is this kind of hair growth common with PCOS sufferers?
