Question Not sure where to ask this

My husband is in the military, so my medical care is taken care of through the military medical system. Are there any other military Cysters out there who have had any success getting military doctors and/or tricare to provide appropriate testing and care for PCOS? If anyone has any info or ideas I would very much appreciate it.

I have tricare and so far have not had any problems. I was referred out to the "network" when my PCM couldn't figure out what was wrong. I have tons of tests (including several ultrasounds and tons of blood work).

Well, I'm hoping things will be better after we PCS to the states in July. Right now we are in England so we don't get referred off base unless they ABSOLUTELY have to. The doctor they have me with told me there was no reason to test my hormone levels, that they had nothing to do with PCOS, I literally laughed at her, I couldn't help it. I can't get the liquid met over here which is what I would really like, I can't get the extended release either. I have serious problems swallowing pills that are not either capsules or at least coated so half the time I just end up throwing my pills up which means I get no good out of taking them. I'm also not getting treatment for any PCOS symptom other than IR and weight. I can't get them to do anything for hair or acne issues. They also refuse to give me clomid until I'm down to 150 or less. My husband had a vasectomy reversal in October, but the won't do a semen analysis because it's been under a year - most urologists do them starting at 6 weeks after. So, to make a long story not very short U.S. military health care while stationed in England mostly sucks. I used to have a good doctor here, but of course they PCSed him away.

OMG! I'm so sorry that they aren't doing anything for you. My testing process has been very slow, but at least I'm getting somewhere. Can you ask for a referral to an Endo DR? Good luck to you and your DH!

My husband is in the military and I am working with TriCare as well. The process to get diagnosed was slow, but they have been great since. We were just PCSed so I am trying to set up my first appointment with my new PCM to get a referral to an Endo so hopefully it goes smooth here as well.
