I posted a while back on this board about having a mass near my left ovary. I meet with the doctor they refered me to, she acted like it was no big deal, its been there for three years, and doesnt seem to be causing a problem. She said she would schedule a surgery just in case, I figured since I had insurance w/e not a big deal nothing to invasive. This was in June, it is now August and they scheduled my surgery for Sept. 9th. Obviously it can't be anything to life threatening. I go back to school Aug. 25th, to have this surgery I would have to miss at least 3 days of classes. I would really prefer not to miss any as it would put me behind. Has anyone every had a similar surgery that they postponed? Or similar situation that they just left alone as a kind of wait and see thing?
I have no experience with that but wanted to wish ya luck..i agree,if they scheduled it in sept then they must not think its anything serious.Hope all works out for ya
Can you call theIR office to find out if you can wait until winter break and reschedule? The only time I had surgery interfere with school was an emergency gallbladder removal (no choice in the matter) but any other procedure I have needed to have done my different Doc's were always understanding about school... probably because they understand the demands of school (although it sounds like some of our ladies' Dr's may have skipped class A LOT)!
THanks for your responses. I called and asked if I could reschedule for winter break, they really did not care. I am considering getting a second opinion on the whole thing anyway.
