It was a huge surpise to me that I had pcos. I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for 11 years, I am on an insulin pump and thought all was well. Last year I messed up a pack of birth control pills and waited for my next period to start a new pack. It never came. After tests and looking at my insulin ratios my doctors decided I am insulin resistant and have pcos. I am completely devistated. My docotor told me to try and lose weight. I have no weight to lose. I am 5"7' and weight 140 lbs. I have always been looked at as thin and don't know how to lose weight. I eat healthy and have for the last 11 years because of the diabetes. My doctors told me that in the last few years they are finding more type 1 people that are insulin resistant. They put me on metformin and help with the insulin resistance, it is helping a little. BUT the mood swings are not going away. I just had my first period last week, without the help of hormone pills.

I just need help dealing with this. I snap at everyone and am on the verge of tears all the time. I feel SO ANGRY. I have been trying to do research on the internet but not finding good answers. I feel completely lost. I want kids so bad. I feel like a failure as a woman. I feel like no one understands.

In terms of the mood swings...
myself and a others have realized that if you cut red meat out of your diet, your testosterone levels go down, and so does your mood swings.
if you don't believe me try a little test...go without meat for a couple of days...then have a hamburger or something like that. Then see how quickly your mood changes and you start getting upset at people for no reason.. (at least that is how some cysters on here are, as is the female side of my fam.
