Points: 36,275.01 Bank: 3,348,243.84 Total Points: 3,384,518.85 | A note from your friendly neighborhood moderator. Hi Ladies!
First of all, I want to say how much I love this forum! What a great place to learn more about Met and support one another! I had no idea how excited I could get about hearing other women's stories...and I'm always reassured when I hear somebody else has considered pitching a tent and roasting weenies in front of the bathroom toilet! (lol). You ladies are so eager to learn and friendly, and I love the huge support and problem solving that goes on here every day.
But having said that, I need to ask a favour of all of you. The number of PM's and e-mails sent to me asking questions and asking for advice on a personal situations has jumped enormously for me in the last week or two, and it's getting to the point I can't possibly answer them all. I *don't* want to discourage people from getting in touch with me, but with the demands of 2 young kids, I can't possibly keep answering each and every one.
I need to ask all of you to try and help me out in the following ways:
1) Search the forum. A good chunk of the questions I get have been answered on the forum in some form or another, and if you do a search of the met forum (found at the bottom of the metformin forum page), you will probably find your question has been addressed by somebody else. I try to put the most commonly asked questions at the top as "sticky's". If there are subjects you would like to see as a sticky or as an article for the forum, then feel free to pop me a quick line in my PM box and I will try to get address it for you.
2) Post your questions on the forum if they can be shared with the group as a whole. I read every new post on the met forum these days, and try to reply to the posts that represent something I have knowledge of. So if I know something about your situation, I'll be able to address it on the forum. And posting your questions on the forum is even better than contacting me personally, because you *also* get the input of all these other knowledgable women. We have some incredibly smart cookies around here, and they can often do a better job than I can at answering your concerns. If you draw on the wealth of the whole group, you'll get an even stronger answer.
You guys have no idea the validation and confidence it has given me to have so many people ask for my advice and opinion...i could get a swelled head! You are all so special to me and I feel very blessed to be able to share my time with you. You each make this place very special, and I'm so grateful!
If you have any other problems or questions, feel free to send me a quick note, but if you could consider following these steps, I'd really appreciate it..and I might be able to wade through the black hole of my e-mail box.
Hugs and Gratitude, Christy

Thanks for your sweet letter....we all should be grateful that these ladies (all the mods) work, taking time out of their own lives and schedules to help keep this site one of the best sources of information for women who have PCOS. It is their thankless job to keep their respective forums free of clutter and easy to use. I realize we are all different people, and we all have different opinions on things. Unless you have been in their shoes, you cannot know how difficult it can be at times.
Everyone who comes here has the same basic underlying issue...we all have PCOS, and we all have questions. Sometimes, things do get hairy with our differences of opinions, but we have to remember that we are all after the same thing here....help and support. Thanks to all the mods for what they do everyday, and if we didn't have them, this would quickly go to pieces. We're all here to help each other....so let's do that.
By the way....OMG christy...you look Wonderful! way to go on your weight loss!!!!! Fan-dang-tastic!

I have had quite a few questions over the last couple of months about many issues related to PCOS and I can honestly say I think you have been one of the cysters(as well as some wonderful others) who have replied to nearly everyone of my posts.
You have a great knowledge of PCOS, I don't know how you remember all these facts but you and the other moderators work really hard to help all the cysters on these boards.
I often see your name on the boards which you don't even moderate, giving good advice, so well done for managing all this and your family as well, you are an inspiration to make me learn more about my PCOS.
Also I think u look great and so happy, well done with your weight loss
Clare x

When I found out I had PCOS, I did the only thing I could do with all my confusion...read. And my knowledge has become power in fighting this. I want every woman who feels overwhelmed and frustrated to be empowered, so I share what I have learned with my cysters.
Thank you so much for your kind words...I am so happy to have met all the wonderful ladies on this forum. I consider it a real treat to spend time with you. Thanks so much, Clare!
