My Mood: Points: 23,896.21 Bank: 85,412.77 Total Points: 109,308.97 | Nothing works. Why is this happening now? So my previous job fired me because of a medical issue. I have already talked to a laywer and they said there was nothing much I can do and it would not be worth my time.
So I am looking for another job.
Well a few nights ago I started getting sick. I thought it was just my sinuses but oh no! Its a full blown cold and its kicking my behind!!
I am soon going to be going to a job interview. I have tried taking just about everything. I am coughing so much its making me throw up. My father gave me some of that throat spray stuff and that made me very sick and I found out later it expired 07/05 (yeah, they dont check the experation dates). So I am not throwing up anymore other than from the coughing. I am making sure to drink lots of fluids and making sure I am getting lots of sleep. I even took a warm bath and that was relaxing but the water went cold very quickly. But nothing is helping.
I dont want to cancel the job interview or reschedule because I dont want it to look bad on me.... but if I go there I would be worried that I will make other people in the room sick as well.
My throat is so try from coughing that its making me cough more, and when I try to eat... I have to push it away after a few bites. On top of that, I started my period today (but it doesnt hurt like it did before the Lap... Woo Hoo!!)
Anyone have any suggestions??

My Mood: Points: 282.96 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 282.96 | I'm going through the same thing right now, I just moved to an area where the air is drier than I'm used to. It's been suggested that I get a vaporizor or humidifier for my room while I sleep, and the doctor suggested I get mucinex. That seems to help alot but with the dry air it just doesn't completely clear it up. I'm also taking vitamin c every day as well. But my immune system is shot right now due to a fall, broken ankle and surgery. But the humidifier and mucinex is helping for now. Hope this helps. |

As someone who conducts interviews, I hate seeing people who are sick. I would rather have them email me or call me and tell me they cannot go because they are sick, but that they want to reschedule for next week. And show up nice and healthy and ready to go through the process.

Take 3 pills 3 times a day on the first day, 2 pills 3 times a day on the second day, and 1 pill 3 times a day on the third day. You should see a significant improvement...it always works for me.
If you don't have it in your area, taking ginesing should do the same thing. I'm not sure how much of it you need to take though. |

My Mood: Points: 23,896.21 Bank: 85,412.77 Total Points: 109,308.97 | I havent seen ColdFX but I will keep trying to look. My friend has been sick like me, just not as bad and his doctor thinks he has Pneumonia so if that is the case... I wouldnt doubt if I have it too.
My mom is a nurse and she is going to get a few of those doctors masks for me. Do you think that would be ok or should I still reschedule?
I think tomorrow if I am not feeling better I am going into the docs. I think my body was still trying to recover from the surgery and now that I am sick... my body is trying to recover from being sick now too so its taken a lot out of me!!

You are MUCH better off calling and asking to reschedule.

My Mood: Points: 6,640.27 Bank: 1,485.95 Total Points: 8,126.22 | I would postpone the interview. Calling the prospective employer and explaining you are sick is the best move and it shows respect to others that you do not want them to get sick. I think it would the most responsible thing to do.
As far as your cold goes. Here are a couple of things to try:
1. Just before going to sleep at night or when napping; Rub your feet with vicks ointment and then put on heavy socks. For some reason this seems to help with the cough and open up the nasal passages for better breathing.
2. Drink plenty of fluids. Gatorade/Powerade is good b/c it replaces electrolytes.
3. Take a B-complex vitamin. This will help you recover and staying on it is good for energy.
4. Delsym is a great couch suppressant (lasts about 12 hours). Mucinex is good to take during the day.
Hope you feel better!

What does sucking on a lemon do? I have never done that before.
So I took your guys advice and I called him and let him know that I am still sick and I dont know if I will still be sick on Friday.
I apologized to him and let him know that I know people are different when it comes to this so I wanted to ask him if still sick, if he still wants me to come in and I can wear like a doctors mask so I am not breathing on everyone or we could reschedule. He thanked me for being upfront and asking and said if on Friday I am still sick... to call him back and if it is still contagious then he would rather reschedule.
I also made an appointment with my doc. I think by body is having a hard time getting over this from the surgery and then the cold... hopefully its not the Pneumonia but we'll see
