I posted here earlier that I had missed my period and was worried about what was going on, since this was occurring since stopping Agystrin. Well, my Gyn doctor told me she cant do anything else for me (makes me feel wonderful...) and that she is sending me back to my endocrinologist to run more tests. Now I just was checked a few weeks ago... so what is going on? I am so confused and when I asked why I was going to the endocrinologist again- she said "It is because of the PCOS complications" What? Ok, so I have PCOS- so does so many others...
I feel like I am treating symptoms- instead of finding out ways to make it better. My gyn was so determined for me to have an IUD or to be on birth control- no matter that I am 38 years old (39 in January) without children and would like to try to have a child sometime in my life... and that time is running out. I keep thinking this is all a joke- but I have not found the punch line yet...
Yes, I am tired of having PCOS- I want to have a normal body and normal life!

What meds are you on? Has your endo offered you metformin? That might be a good option for you, depending on your symptoms. IMHO, PCOS is best treated by an endo anyway, so you will probably get better treatment than from a GYN. Is it a regular endo or a reproductive endo? Reproductive endos usually have the best knowledge of PCOS.

I am actually not on anything. I was diagnosed with PCOS in the hospital two years ago- put on depression meds (which I basically had to wean myself from) and then told to "stay on BC pills". Been through a lot of mess in my life and just decided last december that I was going to stay off all meds till I figured out what was going on with my life. Then at the beginning of sept.- no AF (which came irregular till then... one or two days each approx. 45 day period and honestly I dont think I had one in july or august...). Went to the doctor- she put me on Agystrin- was on that ten days of oct. and and started nov. but stopped when I was getting sick from it. Then no AF. in oct. or nov. When I spoke to my doctor at the end of November- she asked two things- are you pregnant ( two tests say no) and would you get an IUD (which I refuse). I want a child and do not want to prevent having one.
I think my endocrinologist is a regular one- but he works in a big practice in Greenville, NC called Physicians East and they have to have one there that works with reproductive endocrinology. I dont know what to ask or even what to think right now...
