2007 has been my best year in a lonnnggg time.

After becoming a mum in December 2006, everything changed for me. I have made alot of new friends through various playgroups that we go to and am now so busy every day. Before I had George I did not like going out much because of my PCOS demons but now I have George I have to make an effort for him and I actually enjoy it.

At the beginning of the year, I gave up my good job to work in a shop so I could work baby-friendly hours. Also started doing Avon and met alot of lovely people through that.

I started a Diploma in Childcare & Nursery Nursing and I brought a nice new car.

On the sad side, my Dad is disabled as he nearly died when I was 7, he has lived with pain ever since but been in alot of pain this year which means he is getting worse it makes me so sad that there's nothing I can do to help, It upsets me alot and probably is the only thing I get upset about these days.

December is bringing lots of parties, outings, get togethers, George's birthday and much more. I'm so excited this month!!

2007 has been an exciting year for me with regards to seeing Georgie grow and blossem and learn. Since February she has been able to experience staying at home with daddy since he gave up work and she has also grown closer to her 19 year old brother than I could have wished for...

On the downside money has been incredibley difficult. Since we have been living on 1 wage it has just been impossible so DH went back to work part time in October and Georgie has just started a new nursery part time.
I also wished that I would be pregnant again, or evern had baby number 2 by now.

I have met some great friends (Jess it was wonderful to see you last weekend!) and also had to say goodbye to some great friends who moved away.

I have also managed to loose weight and am now the lightest I"ve been in years....I wish it would have made a difference to TTC though...

My wishes for 2008?

- For Georgie to continue to grow and learn and to bring us happiness!
- To fall pregnant with baby number 2
- To become more financially stable (I hope once DH's wages come in steady and xmas is over we'll see the difference!)
- To meet more friend and see the friends I have more regularly
- To start the assistant teaching course which I have been wanting to start since September - am awaiting the tiem when I have enough money to pay for it!

That's it in a nutshell lol

I'm winding up for xmas now - 2 weeks left at school before kids break up (mahem lmfao!).... and then its goign to be present cahos as we can't afford pressies until we both get paid on 21st. We've hired a car out so will be visiting family and friends in Devon for a few days then spending christmas at home (for the first year ever!!) goign to see SIL and grandparents on boxing day (MIL has Alzheimers so its very difficult to plan when to see her and FIL and for how long) and then we're goign to BIL for a few days following this.

Int he meantime i've got cards to write and send and make for people, a pantomine to rehurse and get the costume ready for (I'm Buttons - any idea what I shoudl be wearing??!!) and all the other usual mahem that the end of term brings (hopefully some yummy treats/gifts from parents too!) LOL

It's just a crazy time of year.

Well 2007 has been a bit hit and miss with me really. Its all down to money troubles (or the lack of money !), beginning of this year DH had a really crap job that paid peanuts then he was made redundant so money was soooo tight he has found another job now though but it still doesnt pay much so I am working all the time just to keep a roof over our heads, so now all we are doing is arguing about money !! to top it all my mother doesnt really like DH she thinks that we rushed into marriage and will regret it later so I have her on my back all the time !! I have put on so much weight and have no motivation to get it off all I seem to do is sleep, eat and work !!!

But I am determined that 2008 is going to be sooo different !!! and only I can change that !!

I am going to trim up for xmas this week looking forward to seeing my black xmas tree !! LOL the week after I am going to start getting presents !! there is nothing like leaving it to the last minute !! ha ha

Been a pig of a year. Lost my running partner, my beautiful staffie a few days after xmas last year and the same week my dad was rushed back into hospital with what turned out to be the beginning of the end. He'd been given 18 months to live and managed 7 years, and at the very end, when he was sent home we were told most men at that stage of prostate cancer live a week or two - he fought on for 6 months.

I still have bad days - bad moments in every day, more accurately - when I hear a bit of music he loved, or we go to a place and I remember being there with him and at first I couldn't bear to look at other kids the same age as mine out with their grandads. I get a lot of flashbacks - the funeral was just heartbreaking. My mum died when I was a child so it brought that back, too and maybe that made it worse as he was my only parent for most of my life so we were exceptionally close.

Then there's been months of dealing with 5 grieving kids - no-one warns you about this, but as we're all different we all grieve in our own way. So what helped one child would upset another. It was phenomenally hard helping them all.

Anyway, a pig of a year and it all started last December so needless to say we're dreading every second of xmas as it's stirring up a lot of bad memories.

Life is short and I know dad would want the kids to have fun and be happy, but no-ones in the mood for it - a bit too soon.

I'm pretty indifferent about the coming year (as a pagan I'm already in the new year as we go from Nov 1st!) All that matters is we stay healthy - and stay together. Anything else is a bonus. We're building a website and then hopefully writing a book off the back of it and I've got off track with my writing, as I was getting published all over the place before but since dad got really bad everything went by the by. So if I can pick up the threads.

One good thing - we went back to 17thC re-enactment after years of doing the deadly 15thC. Were performers at a fantastic living history event at Kelmarsh and had the time of our lives. Met up with old mates and made some new ones and that is positive.

Well it’s not been the greatest year but I did finally move house – that was 9 weeks ago now and all is okay…

I had a fantastic holiday in Sweden in the summer for two weeks, met some great people and also came to realise who where not really good friends and people I don’t want to socialise with anymore! I should have gone to New York – today actually but I had to cancel with the house move!

I resigned from my job… so much time off sick made it almost impossible to return and in the end I decided moving house was a lot more important that working for the time being.

Here’s hoping 2008 will be a better way for me to determine what I really want for my future. One thing is for sure I am not making New Year Resolutions!

I am gonna take it one day at a time in 2008 and just see what happens.

I got a bath and a broken shower I can't afford to get fixed! I'm more a bath girl, myself - nothing better than a bath with essential oils, a candle, and a good book....

Jess, my son had a mock science exam yesterday. I wonder if he's doing the same stuff as you? He seemed happy enough about it - and he usually hates tests, gets really upset about them - so I think it's gone OK. All you can do is your best, eh?

Well, I've been walking the dog round York, going here:

http://www.alligatorwholefoods.com/

and here:

http://uktv.co.uk/food/localfoodhero/outlet/oid/1708

and of course, here:

http://yorkshambles.co.uk/

And then I cooked a massive veggie curry for tea tonight so I only have to heat it up, later.... and then was eating the stuff I bought there, and now I'm online having a rest before I light the fire (still got coal here) and then walk the dog again before it gets dark, as we're out hunting.... I found some huge lumps of old glass in a field near here and am giving them to this lady who makes stunning glass beads, to recycle:

http://www.mancunium.co.uk/viking-beads.htm

as she's on the craft market later this week and I want an excuse to visit her stall! They've not long ploughed the field though so I aren't sure if I can find the glass again..

Then the boys will be in from school and we have to go buy some shepherds' outfits for the nativity play (checked shirts, I ask you! whatever happened to sheets and tea towels!)

I use to say the same about not having a shower and then when my old neighbour moved to somewhere with no bath she kept telling me she hated having no bath and was going weekly to her IL’s to use there’s! I use to think she was crazy, but now I am dying to have a nice long soak in bubbles!
