I've been reading a lot here about ladies who get red bumps and irritation from shaving.... and I've been using Noxema cream forever as shaving cream and it really minimizes any redness or bumps....
Just thought I'd share!
My local dollar store even has an off brand pump called Facema!

Noxema cream, you mean the facial wash? Or does Noxema come in shaving cream these days?
I guess it depends on how much hair we all have. Like some women talk about dry shaving, and I am at a point where I could never do that. There's just too much hair, and you'd totally see a shaddow. I definitely need the hot water and cream. Althoug I'm waiting to try to wax again.
Thanks for the info!

It's just the basic Noxema cream that comes in a pump or the tub. I don't know if they make a specific cream for shaving, but this is the stuff that is advertised as a face wash.
I use it also as a sunburn remedy.

I'll have to try it. I find Noxema doesn't clean my face very good. I'll wash my face with Noxema then use seabreeze afterwards, and it's like I didn't even wash my face. Waste of time.
I've always been told my whole life by several people you shouldn't put Noxema on a sunburn, because it actually holds the heat in.
But I bet it would make a good shaving cream. I have a whole tube in my cabinet that has been sitting there forever.

Ladies you have to watch using Noxema for long periods of time. I learned back in beauty school that when used for long periods of time it can make your skin droopy. It has happened to my aunt. I'll have to find my information on it and post it for ya's. If not used for a long time ..... I don't think there is any harm in it though. Just thought I would share with ya.

Droopy?? Really? I've been using it for like 20 years now! Eeek!
I was using Seabreeze for just about as long but they changed the formula recently and I don't like it - makes me feel oily instead of refreshed.
These days I use a bar of Cetaphil for sensitive skin.... antibacterial I think?
I also use Noxema on the chafed areas between my legs that I sometimes get when I'd done a lot of walking in a warm climate.... like when we walked up and down the strip in Vegas. Ow!
