Question Npc Can Cause Cancer???

I have just started using NPC and noticed on the jar that it said the product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. Does anyone know what the chemical is and should I be concerned?

I'm not an expert but with any hormone, when you have too much of it, it can cause a cancer risk, but the thing is most of us cysters have very little progesterone so getting too much is really not a big isssue.
For me, NPC is the only way I can get AF every month and not getting AF every month also puts you at risk for cancer.
For me, the benefits of NPC really outweigh the risks.
By the way, birth control pills have also been found to increase a womans risk for breast cancer. Hmmmm, I wonder why they havn't slapped a sticker on them.

Does it contain mineral oil? Petro products (which mineral oil is) are known carceniogens.

I actually did a google search about progesterone and cancer and there are alot of conflicting reports. There are many reports that suggest progesterone can actually prevent certain types of cancers.
One report that I found said the reason for the cancer concern is mainly in woman who have already gone through menopause and using progesterone.
It said progesterone can cause a cancer risk in menopausal woman, because after menopause a womans body does not need progesterone anymore.

There are some progesterone driven breast cancers. I think that any hormone therapy like birth control pills, hormone replacement, progesterone cream, progesterone to induce a period, or even soy estrogen may increase a woman's risk for breast cancer. Otherwise why are there so many more breast cancer cases these days? It's so frustrating for me, because so many women in my Mom's family (including my Mom) have had breast cancer. Almost anything I consider taking for my PCOS symptoms "may" cause breast cancer. Even Spiro has that warning! But nobody knows. Some doctor's theorize that unbalanced hormones cause breast cancer and balancing them with BCP or other things might prevent breast cancer. Right now I am taking the approach of no BCP, no Spiro and no progesterone, but who knows if I am making the right decision?

Chrissy I agree with Hanshab. When it says its known to cause cancer "in the state of California" it's usually an ingredient and not the hormone. i.e. they have warnings for asbestos, etc. It could be the mineral oil. Check some CA government websites. You could try a different brand that doesn't have that ingredient. All the best
