Sorry, I went into frustrated whiney mode on another thread. Got over it, now I'm going into "gonna do something about this" mode, heh.

I am without insurance and can't afford Glucophage XR. It works for me and I was shaking in my boots thinking I wasn't going to be able to afford it.

The number there is to the Bristol Myers Squib company for Glucophage XR. When I called it, I was given a different number to call, 1-800-736-0003. This took me through a few menus to get an application that will be sent to me by snail mail. You can also get it by fax machine. So, a silver lining in the works.

No need to apologize, Punny. It's so frustrating to feel alone in this. This is an awesome possibility and I hope this resource can help lots of other women whose insurance (or lack of) tightens the squeeze for Met. Thank you!

Do you need to be diabetic to get the aid for Gluc XR? Since Gluc is not a standard and universally accepted treatment for PCOS, I wonder if that will be a problem.

Go to www.needymeds.com
On the left hand side of the page choose drug list. It should then let you scroll alphabetically to Glucophage and Glucophage XR. This program is from the manufacturer and will require some paperwork from you and your doc.
This site is GREAT for most any medication someone might need.
