Has anyone used or heard of a numbing cream called LMX-4 or Lidocaine Multilamellar X/fer? I want to use it for my PIO shots but am unfamiliar at how it works! Can someone help me out?

The only times I have heard of numbing creams used were with regard to laser hair removal and circumcision. In both cases I think it's a fairly topical effect - it wouldn't penetrate to the, what, inch, inch and a half that an IM muscle is? Ask your doctor and if they don't know call up a laser hair removal place and see what they say. It's an odd request for them but they should know the answer.

I am not sure of the name but a girl i work with was going through IVF and had to take the PIO and used a numbing cream. She said although it did not take all the pain away it made much more tolerable than when she did not use it. She got it from her RE.

I know they sell numbing cream in adult sex stores to numb you up to make you get that climax a little easier. it works good for giving you an orgasim, but after using it for a while, you develop resistance. i used nympho.

Can someone help me out? | I use these at work all the time. I am a nurse and we put them on children before blood tests or cannulation. Basically they numb the skin to make the injection hurt less. If you have asthma or eczma you need to be careful as they can cause a reaction. Also the numbing effect takes up to an hour to work abd lasts hours so it can feel a bit weird for a while. What may be easier for you is ethyl chloride spray. You spray it just before you inject and the effect lasts about 30 seconds.
You probably need to get it prescribed although I have heard you can sometimes buy it from piercing studios. Its a bit pricey but a can will last you ages.
