Post Numbing/Tingling of lips

I am currently taking metformin 2000 mg daily and avandia 4mg. I experience tingling/numbness in my lips even if I have just eaten. This is so annoying. Does anyone else have this problem? if so do you do anything to get rid of it? or do you just live with it? Thanks in advance...Michele

It is both my lips, and it extends to around my mouth. No it isn't a cold sore. I get this several times a week. and it is ever since I started the Avandia.

I would call your doc or your pharmacist to be on the safe side.

I agree with Pink
exact same thing happened to me when I first started taking Lamictal, it was the med, but my doc at the time said, oh no, and it passed, but it sounds like the Avandia may be causing it, when did you start the Avandia?

It's more annoying than anything else...

I started Avandia about 2 months ago (in March).

I'm clueless cyster, Avandia has been in your 'system' for two months, then it's highly unlikely that's what causing the tingiling...however, it still may..Vicodin still does that to my right arm after taking it for a year...I would call your doc if it's really bothersome.

Well I went to my doc in May and she said the tingling was being caused by low blood sugar. so she told me to take 2mg of avandia instead of 4mg and I have been fine ever since. Hopes this helps some of you girls out there experiencing this symptom.

Is that what that is...I have been getting that for the last 2-3 years and I still don't know what that is. I didn't know that was a symptom of low blood sugar...thanks.
