Was wondering about the tingly and numbing sensations I so often experience. For the last few years I have been suffering from tingly feelings in arms/hands and feet. At night if I lie on one side for more than like 10min, I begin to lose the feeling in my hands. I know I have poor circulation though, due to being overweight and all. But also, its gotten worse over the last 2 years, now its like even (not trying to gross anyone out) but seriously, sometimes my blood is restricted even when I'm using the restroom. And I can't stand sitting in a small car for long periods where I cant stretch cause I need to circulate you know? And I'm only 5'0"! So is this 'neuropathy'? If so, is it like a symptom of type 2? And since I'm on it, can anyone tell me if you get that hungry feeling or that 'empty' feeling about 2hrs after eating a full meal?
About the numbness/tingly thing, it could be diabetic neuropathy. It can happenw to diabetics, and it causes pain, numbness/tingling, or even complete lack of feeling (usually starts in the fingers and toes) throughout the body. There are medications which can help the symptoms, but it's defintely worth a trip to your doctor to discuss your concerns and rule out any other causes (pinched nerves, etc).
Good luck!

yeah, I was dx with a pinched nerve in my lower spine in May '06, but I'm not sure thats it or not, could be the diabetic neuropathy because I've been dealing with this for some years now....then again my pinched nerve in back did come from an auto accident 3yrs back....at least, that what we think. Not really sure now, but will inform doc when I get one. thx
The emplty hungry feeling after two hours of eating could be because of what you ate and your sugar level dropping..Try eating a well balanced diet...For example a serving size of cooked veggies is 1/2 cup and raw veggies is 1 cup. A serving size of meat is 1 ounce. I eat 4 oz a day. A serving size of fruit depends on the type of fruit, but a serving size of apple is 1 small apple. A serving size of fat is 5 grams of fat. A carb serving is 15 grams of carbs...Depending on what you eat and how much you eat will determine a quick drop of your glucose level. The fat in a diet stretches the carbs and keeps from having valleys and peaks in your sugar levels. Fat keeps it more level...I would recommend you seeing your doctor and discussing diet/exercise with him. A 20 min walk will also keep sugar levels normal for 24 hours. I hope this helps
