thought it would be fun to hear what you ladied are thinking up for nursery.
We have done a silver bug theme on blue walls. brown wood crib and change table. we dont have a mobile yet, and still need a quilt. i was making one, but it didnt turn out as i hoped.
foster mom said he likes his swing, and we should get one, i was looking at the reviewn in babiesrus, all the swings had very negative reviews. i wonder how a bouncer would do? they seem to be more interactive and stimulating, any ideas?
for our son's room we did a sesame street theme with primary colors. that way he could keep it as he grew older (for awhile anyway ) and since our next child/ren will share the room and all my baby stuff is SS we are going to keep everything the same. as for the swing. a bouncy MIGHT work. but i have to tell you. my son was a swing baby and NOTHING else would do. he even took his naps in it. so just be prepared, if he is a TRUE swing baby, nothing else might do. i was very happy with mine. it was a graco, but it is now 3 yrs old. good luck!
I did my DD nursery in blue because our first adoption attempt was for a boy that fell through. But I put white shelves close to the ceiling all around the room so I could put little girly knick-knacks all over the place. Her big girl room is now done in lavender with butterflies and angels hanging up all over

Justin's room is decorated in a Lion King theme, with some non-character jungle animals/wild animal pictures and colors are soft blues, greens, browns olive and natural woodtone furnture, with a sea blue carpet.
Maria's room is pink and white check gingham, with pastel pink, denim, purple and green colors and decorated with flowers, butterflies and ladybugs, with white furniture with a deep rose carpet.
(That is when I can keep the toys off the floor long enough to see the carpets.) :o
Beautiful blue walls with giant bugs painted on the walls and a bug border ... my ma-in-law made the quilt and curtains from bug material !
I LOVE bugs ..
* all the nursery's sound beautiful ! *

I'm not pg - yet - but we've decided what we're going to do as I want to paint it myself before I fall pg. We're going to paint the walls a deep blue and I'm going to paint dalmation puppies on the walls (the ones from 101 dalmations). I want natural wood furniture and for bedding and other things, we will go for a non-theme so we can have different colours; white, blue, yellow, pink, (depending on whether it's a boy or a girl).

We painted Emily's room a pretty light purple (kind of lilac). The rest of her room is all accented in pastel yellow, pink, blue, purple, and green. It is just beautiful! I painted her dresser too--it was an old one my MIL gave us and definitely needed to be spruced up. It looks great now!
Her bedding quilt has a cute bunny on it with flowers & birds & butterflies. I ordered some Wallies that I'll be hanging this week and they are also flowers.
She even has a cute ceiling fan that looks like flower petals and each one is a pastel color--it's adorable. Jess liked it so much we got one for her room too (which actually has similar colors as Emily's).
I can't wait to have it finished and by the time I do finish it she'll probably be home!!

Ok..well we are adopting and hoping for two. Our ideal situation would be an infant and their toddler sibling but we will take two infants as well. So keeping this all in mind I went with Mint green. All of the photos in the roon have mint green frames or mint green in them. For the bedding in the crib I have done 8 different toile prints of children in mint, pink and blue. I have also use the main toile that includes all the colors to cover the lampshades and to make a canopy over the crib. I am also using it on an old TV cart....I'll explain....I painted this old white TV cart mint and had dh add a shelf low to the bottom of it. I am putting the tv on the shelf so it is inside of the cart and am making a curtain out of the toile so it looks like a movie theatre and it's the perfect hight for children. Our crib and changing table/dresser#1 is honey pine. I have a bookshelf and dressar #2 that I am painting mint and then putting crackle paint over it so it will give it an antique look. This has been a fun but stressful process. I am making the bumper pad and quilt myself, as well as a organizer for the changing table. I also have a blue rug in the room with the ABC's on it and little animals. We have lots of teddy bears in the room as well.
I am doing a lot for these babies on my own. I have made a rag quilt out of flannel for the baby and will likely do another one for the toddler. I am also preparing to make two fleece blanets and blanket stitch them as well for my little ones.
When there older we are planning to give them seperate rooms (we hope to buy a house soon) and then if it is a boy we will do Outter space/aviaton (dh is pilot) BUT IF THEY ARE GIRLS.....
One room will be madeline with an Eiffel Tower mureal and the other Eloise with an mureal of the Plaza...I have lived in both places and those two girls are so endearing!
Take Care.
