I happen to be a drug rep for NuvaRing, and I am not being partial when I say that it is wonderful! When I stop TTC, I will definitely go on it! There are a lot of women that I know on NuvaRing, and they absolutely love it! You can check out the website at www.nuvaring.com.

Tarheel: is Nuvaring just a great contraceptive or is it also an alternative to the pill in regards to reducing acne and excess facial hair in women with PCOS...could you find out?

I'm going to have to go against the grain on this one cysters. I hated it and was told that it actually is not the best for woman because there is such a concentration of hormones on the baby maker region. The mood swings, acne the wieght gain you can have it never again for me... During BDing it sometimes came out and my man felt it even though they say only 1 in 100 guys feels it... Thats just me though ...

Good Luck with whatever you decide

I kind of like the convenience of the Ring. I really don't feel it at all. The problems that I have had (maybe TMI) are all concentrated "down there". At one point, I was really ichy, but it wasn't a yeast infection. Someon suggested taking it out and rinsing. That helped alot, I do it every couple of days now just in case. The other problem that I had was an achy feeling not just in my vagina, but the whole region! I wondered if it was being caused by the ring. I took it out for about an hour (you can leave it out up to 3 hours) and noticed a difference. I didn't have any problems when I put it back in.

Also, it didn't help with any symptoms (oily skin, acne, etc) and I think that it has made me gain some weight (about 5 pounds in the past 2 months) I am thinking of switching to something else because I really don't need to gain weight, KWIM??
