Anyone know anything about either of these places: Columbia Univ Med Ctr's Center for Women’s Reproductive Care OR North Shore-Long Island Jewish Center for Human Reproduction
I know that NYU and CRMI are the best in the area...and RMANY is great as well. However, those places don't accept my insurance and the Columbia and NS-LIJ do. So...anyone been to either or heard anything about Dr. Lobo at CUMC or Dr. Cohen at NS-LIJ? Thanks!!!

My Mood: Points: 794.27 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 794.27 | NY Doctors I am a patient of Dr. Lobo and he was the doctor who finally diagnosed my PCOS. I think he is great. Unfortuantely he is currently not accepting any new patients. I refered a friend who also has PCOS but when she called today they told her he was not taking any new patients. My gynocologist is in NY Presb. and he was the one who encouraged me to see Dr. Lobo after doing many tests that he believed were signs of PCOS. Unfortunately he also is no longer accepting new patients but I assure you that any doctor in the NY PResb or the Cornell Reproduction and Fertility center will be a good choice. Good luck! |

My Mood: Points: 3,402.87 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,402.87 | Maybe your friend can have my appointment with Dr. Lobo? I haven't cancelled it yet. I decided to go with the docs at North Shore after reading a lot of negative comments about the Columbia clinic, in general. I'm sure Dr. Lobo is great, though. I just don't want any added stress when TTC. NS is also a little more convenient for me.
On second thought, maybe TTC patients are treated differently at Columbia. I had no problem at all getting an appointment....they offered multiple days/time. It's probably because of the potential to bill for a lot of expensive procedures, compared to a non-TTC PCOS patient.

My Mood: Points: 3,402.87 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,402.87 | Just as a follow-up, I've seen two doctors at North Shore-LIJ Center for Human Reproduction. Both seem good and I've found the staff to be relatively helpful and responsive to phone calls. I'm not sure if this is true at all fertility clinics, but the docs do the ultrasounds themselves. In the past, I've always had techs do them.
