Default O/T Double Glazing Recommendations

We are hopefully going to be moving in a couple of months time & the new place has grotty windows which we hope to replace fairly quickly.
Has anyone used Safestyle? Or Anglian? Or any of the other d/g firms? I'd really like to go to someone who has been recommended.
I know double glazing is a very boring subject but anything housey is all I can think about at the moment!

Sorry this may not be the exact info you are after but we used Anglian, it was probably nearly 10 years ago now.

4 window handles snapped off within a week of them being fitted. It took pushing a year for them to be replaced which involved MANY phone calls and visits to their local office. Only for them to be replaced with gold handles when we have white windows. They said they were temporary and they'd be back to put white ones on but you've guessed it, they never have!

So crap.

I hope someone can recommend someone better!

Not sure how Anglian faired years ago but a good friend recently used them last month to replace her entire house.... she couldn't fault them it took them two days to do nine windows and two doors. She'd just moved in as well and same as you old windows where just awful and in desperate need to be replaced!

Thanks, it's good to hear different opinions. I think the windows where we are now were done by Anglian in 1989, they seem to be coming to the point where they need some attention but we'll leave that for the new owners!

I think if I remember my parents old house where done by Anglian (knowing my dad he will still have a receipt!)... that would have been back in the late 80's!

hubby is a joiner but has in the past worked fitting double glazing. He says that anglian windows are generally the best quality. Can't comment on the service
