Question OBGYN or Endo?

When is it time to see an Endo? At my request, I asked my OBGYN to Rx Met, but I got the feeling he wasn't fully educated about PCOS (I was diagnosed years ago by a doctor in another state - I was on the pill until Jan 07). My first goal was to get my symptoms under control, but since I'm hoping to get pregnant anyway, should I just go ahead and see a reproductive endo? I hate to dig into the insurance allotment if I don't have to. Any advice?

I'm using a regular ob/gyn right now for the infertility, and he treats mainly infertility. But I think I would have an even swifter response if I would change to an re. I'm just doing one step at a time, and he is concentrating on the infertility, not the problems that come along with it.
