I personally think you should ask for a referral to see an endocronolgist. I know that in PA I had a hard time at the GYN, and them not knowing for sure if I had PCOS, but when I went to the Endo, he knew by running different tests, like an untra sound. Im so sorry about the intrusive thoughts, but let me assure you that taking medication is safe, and effective. I have been on and off anti depressents, and seditives, and although they do have some wired side effects in the beginning.....its totally worth it. Waking up feeling normal, be able to go out in to the public, and not feeling my panic and anxiety all the time makes any night sweets, or dry mouth wirth it. Talk to you Dr about your concerns. I was the same way with medication, and would hate to see you not take something that may totally help your condition. Erin
