Points: 518.98 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 518.98 | I started on Ocella 4 months ago after taking Yasmine since '06. After an initial breakout, my face cleared right up (I still had major acne probs on the yasmine) and I only break out right before my period. I think the only downside is that i tend to retain more water than I did on the Yasmine. |

I had transferred my prescriptions to Target, and they automatically filled my Yasmin as the generic. I was paying $50 for Yasmin, and that was with insurance. I'm starting Ocella tomorrow and hopefully it will be a smooth transition... there was no way I could have kept paying $50 for Yasmin each month anyway...

The price difference is what made me find out about Yasmin even having a generic. I went to fill the Yasmin and it went up to $40. They said b/c a generic was available, Yasmin went to a Tier 3 Rx and that the generic replaced it as a Tier 2. So I have to pay the same. Hopefully it'll work. Just waiting to start my cycle. But with pcos, who knows when that'll be, lol.

My Mood: Points: 48,059.71 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 48,059.71 | I didn't even think Ocella would be any different than Yasmin but now that I look back at the last two months that i've taken Ocella... it does seem different. I've had severe anxiety (of course i've always had an anxiety disorder... not this bad though), chest pain (which may not be from the Ocella at all who knows), bleeding if I miss just one pill!, and some other things that I had when I first started Yasmin (like swollen breasts etc. which I haven't had since starting Yasmin 3 years ago) I don't see how it could be different though. The thing is I was paying $70 for Yasmin and the price was continually going up every month. Now I pay $50 and the price hasn't gone up at all. I don't think I could afford to go back to Yasmin. |

Unfortunately I had issues with Ocella- so I switched to NuvaRing. LOVE IT!!! i Know it's expensive- but i'll never go back to Ocella.
I guess BC's varies with everyone. |

My Mood: Points: 6,345.97 Bank: 6,866.26 Total Points: 13,212.23 | Okay, a not so good update...
After my first month of Ocella, my period came right on time and was actually light the first few days. Now I'm on day five of my period, and it is heavier than ever! I don't remember this happening on Yasmin. However, other than this I haven't noticed any other problems with the switch. Hopefully my period will hurry up and end.
And to top it off, I tried the Diva Cup for the first time during this period, and it leaked really badly today. I have no idea why - I had it in right I thought, and it only seems to happen when I'm laying down. :-(
How is everyone else doing on Ocella?
