Arrow Ocella as good as Yasmin?

Has anyone been on ocella and had good results? I went to pick up my prescription today (just starting BCPs) and the pharmacy gave me ocella which is the generic of yasmin. I know it's cheaper, but from what I've found online so far, I can't seem to find anything better about ocella than price, and lots of people seem to switch back to paying more to not have the side effects.. I haven't taken it yet, since I don't start taking it til Sunday, but should I call the doctor and ask to be switched or try it out for a month?

So far the side effects I've read about don't seem pleasant.. but it appears when people switch from yasmin to ocella they have more problems than those who start out on ocella (like me) who haven't ever taken bcp's before.. I start it this sunday and figure I'll try it for an entire cycle.. Anyone else experience ocella in a good or bad way? Please share!

Yasmin controlled my cramps better. I had some minor breakthrough bleeding in the first two months of my switch to Ocella, but that's been it.

Thanks for the reply.. I have a friend who's on it and hasn't had the bad side effects.. I guess more people are likely to complain when a medicine makes them feel horrible than go on and on about how it works.. I think I'll give it a try.

I think you should try it for a month. The pills work different ways on different people. I have tried so many bcp and I haven't had side effects from any of them.

That's good to hear.. I've never really had side effects from generics vs. name brand, and I plan on taking it with food and at nighttime (like dinner time) so that it doesn't affect me during school if I do have side effects..

I've been having some spells of vertigo/dizziness when I wake up, but I don't know if that's because of the pill, or dehydration.. I seem to have no interest in plain water lately and I've tried cutting out empty calorie drinks so I know I'm dehydrated because if I suddenly drink about double the water I have been I feel more clear-minded and less fuzzy-brained.. Usually dehydration just gives me headaches, but for the past 5 days I've just felt like I have cotton in my brain periodically throughout the day.. I'll try to drink the amount of water I should be for a day or two and if it doesn't subside I'll call up the doc..
