Default October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month

Our Empty Arms group is planning a rememberance walk on Oct. 10th. I would also like to do a balloon release from the cemetery, though I am not real sure about that yet. Anyone else have any plans to remember your baby with?

My support group does a balloon release next week, and lots of old-timers come back to do that every year, even if they haven't been to the group for many years. It will be our first. We're still going to the cemetery a lot and will enjoy the changing of the leaves for the first time on Mary Catherine's sugar maple that we planted right next to her plot. I guess in a way the seasons will represent a lot as we grow in the greiving process. This is a good time of year for remembering and letting go a little bit. [I'm still not ready to let go.]

Oct 10th must be the day. We have a walk/rememberance that day at a local nature preserve. I'd love to go but it is the day of DS's Baptism, so maybe that is a sign in itself.

Sheri--I don't think you have to let go of the memories of your little one, just let go of some of the pain. Keep her in your memory by thinking of the good things with the PG---finding out, hearing the heartbeat, u/s (if you had one). I just remember hearing my baby's heatbeat at 7 weeks, it was the first time I'd ever heard such a thing. My only regret is DH wasn't there to hear it too I also have my u/s picture of my little bean. What a symbolic way to remember Mary Catherine with a maple tree, I'm sure the change of leaves will be beautiful.

I will be thinking of all the cysters here next week. I hope the day brings some peace.
