Ode to My Mom - by Trulymadusa This is a poem I made for my mothers birthday
ODE TO MY MOM
Each morning I wake up I stare into the mirror,
I expect to see my face, but then it's you who seems to appear.
It is comforting to know, that someday I might be just like you-
a women in her own right, with meaningful life lessons that you have lived through.
Your journey's have made you strong and your heart even stronger-
no matter what life has thrown you, you couldn't have been a better mother.
That is all I ever hope to be,
a women with love and hope and spirituality.
Those gifts are the gifts that I will remember,
a special kind of love that can only be given from a mother to her daughter.
I want to thank you now for all you have done,
you have always been my hero, because you never stopped being my mom.
Even though I am grown, I know I will always be your baby-
but I better understand you now, now that I have my own baby.
It makes me pround to think your wisdom will help me through,
this passage of life that all began when you gave birth to your baby daughter Boo. |
